Every so often I think "Right! I'm going to sit down & get my head around this!" Half an hour later I'm more confused than ever & give up

I get Yods in theory, it's just when I actually try to apply one or two in a Chart I fall short *sigh* Hoping for one of those awesome light bulb astro moments when I get a big CLICK. One day...

So, you're saying when the point opposite the apex of the yod is activated by transit, an "event" is likely to happen and it's not necessarily an outer event, since it's not an action aspect? Or do we have an opportunity to make a choice when this point is activated by transit or progression? You say it's not an "action" aspect, but you say there is a "release" so I'm confused. What do you mean "release"? You also say we are prompted to act, so how is it not action oriented?

Btw, thank you everyone for helping me understand this aspect. This is one of the most confusing aspects... I do think it somehow signifies fated encounters...whatever that means to anyone.

I don't think it is fated, but rather a bias in natal charts. For me, Yods are about reconnecting energies on a special focus. I have not really seen it being used in synastry since it is the finger of God for you. It's personal.
