Is considering "karma" out of vogue?

I notice I don't hear about "karma" all the time, which was the case ten years ago.

Do people still think about this? If not, what's the new version as far as the concept of "comeuppance" is concerned?

I still think about it and hear of it quite often, really. I would have thought it would have been on more people's minds after the Cap mash-up? Having said that, I have personally seen people evade what I would call Karma, so... I don't know ?

@plutolover I wonder your generation, the average age of people you hang with.

Also, I agree regarding the Capricorn.  It used to be all about the karma ball...
I wonder if so many were hit hard this year, they might have decided it's not karma? The hardship is undeserved?

I think it IS undeserved in 2020, for many, many, many people.

@elsa I was born in '78, but most of the people I hang with are at least 10+ years older, and most subscribe to the idea of Karma, or what goes around comes around. Thing is, I used to see Karma in action all the time - things levelled up, lessons were learned, but these days... I don't know, assholes get patted on the back, and people suffering are being victimised further. It's so topsy-turvy, and not pleasant for this Libra to see.

I don't pay much attention to karma, because it seems so abstract (and basically, unverifiable). Also like Plutolover says, it seems to be doled out unfairly a lot of the time.

I'll admit, I thought about karma quite a bit when Saturn traveled through Capricorn.

After losing my husband, I wondered if God was punishing us on some level because we were not legally married. When this Covid pandemic happened, I felt the same way I did during the Gulf oil spill of 2010 -- wondering what we humans have done to ourselves and our planet. Harsh? Maybe. Every time I get a cavity filled, I KNOW I'm dealing with karma from eating too much sugar and imperfect oral hygiene. In a way, I can empathize with Elizabeth Bennett's father in Pride and Prejudice when he tells her: "Who should suffer but myself? It has been my own doing, and I ought to feel it."

It had kinda simmered a bit over the past 5 years, I noticed. But, it is still somewhat in vogue!

I think that Pluto in Capricorn taught us that nobody is immuned to bad luck, and that shit happens.....sometimes for no reason!

Karma is an ancient Sanskrit word which simply means 'cause and effect'. It's about the natural exchange of energy - 'If I do this, then this will happen'. I can't really see the law of physics going out of fashion, only people's understanding of it.
