My husband is cooking tiger eye beans that I grew some years ago.  He does not know how to cook, but his aunts did.  He's cooking them in the pressure cooker (not the IP) and then told me has to chop an onion, fry it and make it clear.

This is when I put an onion on a cutting board with a knife and stepped away. He has never been in the kitchen, cooking, ever. It's very strange, like a rhino got in my kitchen somehow.  Now what?

@elsa haha

Mine has taken over the kitchen. He is making scrambled cheese eggs and meal preps. He is BBQing too. Don't get me started with the grocery shopping.... omg I am internally laughing so hard... I literally have to go in the bathroom and shut the door. 🤣

It's like he has lost his mind. 🤣 I know with mine this is just him controlling another aspect of our lives because he is no longer in an office setting micromanaging a team. He has to skype to manage and that is not enough control so now he is controlling the kitchen. I cut it when he started on the laundry 🤣

I know this is not the same as your situation I am just describing the hilarity of my house right now. If they ever put them back in the office, it would never happen (but the days of 8-5 office hours 5 days a week are over for a lot of people, so I am going to have this man in the kitchen)

Did I mention he has never once cleaned up after himself? 🤣

for 25 years he never cooked a thing once ever. What is happening here is just....... 😳

@soup He's currently sauteing, I mean, frying about 1T of onion to flavor about one pound of beans... which were cooked in chicken bouillon. We'll see.

The part that kills me, currently, is this is a science experiment. He does not need my non-scientific help.

@elsa Well they do look good!

Hey, I have found mine to be a pretty good cook for someone who had no idea where the salt was for 25 years 🤣

Never once did a load of laundry, cooked, knew where a broom or a mop was, never operated the dishwasher, washer or dryer... I mean, he did nothing inside the house as far as any of this went. I did all the grocery shopping, and the yard work too. Also, I washed the cars, picked up all the things like dry cleaning... I even gassed up the cars.

This new hostile takeover is so strange 🤣 I draw the line at the laundry. Sorry. Not good at it at all.

I used to complain about the fact I had to do all that. I have no idea who I am today. Certainly not a mother or a grandmother or a traditional wife nor do I have a job I go to. Who am I ... I have no identity. So, I am forced to create new. 🤪

@soup It's his grandmother's recipe. Arranged marriage @ 14 years old. Had three kids before she turned 18. They're good but need pepper, in my opinion!

On the usurping of power around the chores; I don't think I'm in danger there. He's actually very good at cleaning (military), but he only steps in when I'm stressed and insistent.  In your situation, I would be discombobulated for sure.  Upside-down land!

Upside-down land! You can always put appropriate words to situations. I just keep living these transits while trying to rock the boat as little as possible. I'm sure when Pluto is exact square to my Sun 🌞 they are all going to meet resistance 😊 even though I know to exhibit self control 😎 and when I say all... I mean family that have become comfortable being a certain way while Pluto is square my Venus. Their time is about up! HA ...

@soup sometimes less is more. I really think you have the right mindset. I feel I'm at an age, I dont have to fight every war.

Pluto transit to Scorpio can really release the kracken. Coiled up serpent power unleashed from the depths.

I'm to a point here, I don't want to run energy like that, if I can help it. I'm trying for,  Ben and now jangled nerves!

@elsa I agree. I'm just too tired to go wherever people want to go with these things anymore. I just want to sit it out. And people get mad if you don't want to fight with them 🙄

If he wants to feel in charge and running the kitchen gives him that... cook on brother! 😅 if my DIL wants to be aggravated at someone.... better me than one of those kids ✌️ because she can't childhood wound me! A Pluto transits gift... you just dgaf! 🤣 about nonsense anymore....

He's got food lined up in the fridge right now 😳 he's going to start cooking when he gets up.... so I just assume this means I'm going to get to finish a book today 😊

@soup Did your husband's progressed Sun enter Taurus yet or will it? I was thinking that because my mum is a Pisces but now a prog. Taurus. re: cooking.

@sophiab OMG! Yes.... progressed Sun in Taurus! Rising, Mercury and Venus too. He is a walking progressed Taurus right now. I knew this but forgot for whatever reason. This explains so much. Taurus loves their creature comforts and enjoys spending quiet time at home to recharge and take care of the people they love.

He is all over me .... eat this, take this, call this doctor. I dk why I forgot how much they need to take care of people.

He is so focused on my self care and his taking care of me and protecting me from outside meanness. And I am so glad you just reminded me to look... thank you, again! I don't want to be aggravated because he means well. And I am better because of it. He asked me a month ago to please stop being engaged in politics. He said you can't change a thing about those people and the aggravation is making you sick. Please read a book.

So, I did.

I have the natal moon. I get it.

@soup Glad my intuition was on track. It makes sense that he has changed focus. That's a lot of Taurus lol

@sophiab Your mind is like a steel trap!!!!!!!! 🤣

Yeah, that is a lot of Taurus. I have said so many times... honey, you are stomping when you walk (he's not mad when he does it) you are slamming the doors, even on the kitchen cabinets. He doesn't mean to; he is just so heavy hand and foot right now... now I see why. BULL. haha

@soup 😂 Uranus on my Sun = a lot of knowledge incoming.

It's funny what you say about stomping, because I remembered my mum said a while back that I stomped on the stairs. Must be the Taurus. My younger brother has a stellium in Taurus, 4 planets plus Chiron, and he was a door slammer when we were kids.

Yum. Good idea.

fresh pea soup with mint for lunch today.  The only way I want to eat peas once I tasted it. The last of my peas.

I been juicing my carrots and romaine each morning. Easier than chewing.

Currently addicted to cold buckwheat noodle salad  with toasted sesame oil, tamari and whatever from the garden. Green onions cilantro, greens.

@nona I use swiss chard with fruit for a smoothie, most days.

Standard lunch this time of year is tomatoes, cukes and feta, or Caprese salad.

I'm also back to making pickles, because Nashville hot chicken, has shown me how they can enhance certain things.  I've been making muffalettas and similar things, since I got the griddler.    Between that and making cubanos, I've learned, throwing, fresh, refrigerator pickles on all sorts of pressed sandwiches, works!

I just found this:

Yum.
