I felt like I should start this thread this morning so I'm doing it.

Sometimes in life, a relationship will fall apart and we didn't do anything to cause it. Sometimes we lose our jobs even though we didn't do anything to cause it. Love ones die, our friends become distant for various reasons. It's a universal experience. If you are struggling today I encourage you to talk to someone about how you are feeling. If you have struggled in the past yourself I hope you will share your story if an opportunity presents itself to you either online wherever you hang out or in real life.

Thanks, Tam.  I've been close to a number of people who have struggled against this.  This is a hard time of year for many people.  Me, too... even though, I'm aware enough that when such thoughts cross my mind, I know they're intrusions.  Still, Christmastime for me means being there for others for whom this time is tough, as it is for me.  Being there for those who delight in this time, too, of course.  As best I can.  Which may not suffice - I know.

Anyhoo, what a lovely thing you've done, posting this topic.  I've often wondered, wouldn't people who did kill themselves - some of them, at least - have preferred to have learned something from the anguish they were feeling, and carried on with that new wisdom?

A Gemini man at work 16-year-old son tried to kill himself. The young man is a late degree Sadge. Poor kid, they shipped him off over 2 hours from home. They hope to bring him home on Christmas Eve but there are no guarantees. Sorry if I'm being a Debbie Downer! I don't mean it that way.

Thank you Tam for this post heart

Some years ago I lost my soul mate and struggled with depression and suicidal thoughts for a longer period of time. I did go to a therapist in the end, I was so lost… Friends and family were close and helping, but I was already in a very bad condition.

This year a friend of mine told me her sister tried to kill herself and I pushed and insisted to go to a specialist. My friend was afraid of doctors and tried to help her sister herself, but I was so insistent they gave it a try. I told them sometimes even if you love someone very much, that someone need extra help, a help that comes from a specialist and it is urgent!

I had my own experiences and I share them and I’m glad they listened. The girl is ok now… and she went through a therapy…

Even when I meet someone who is not struggling with suicidal thoughts (some people who kill themselves chose silent suicides), I tell them to search extra help from a therapist if they feel that family and friends cannot give it (even if they wish very much). I'm always afraid that struggles people have can turn into the feeling of helplessness and lead to suicidal thoughts as the inner worlds are complicated and so fragile...
