Descendant Ruler

My Descendant is ruled by Mercury. My Mercury is Virgo, 9th house. Mars and Jupiter sit in my 7th house.

Looking back, I'm attracted to men who are caring and SMART. If he's dumb....I die a little inside. shrug_gif

I also tend to pick arguments without meaning to. Back when I was working in fast food, there was this guy who wore a pager and bragged about all the women who were calling him.

We sparred off a lot. For some odd reason I found him attractive--and he was pretty average-looking. I liked giving him a hard time, lol.

As for Shiny Taurus, my Descendant ruler (Mercury) trined his Descendant ruler (Sun). And vice versa. Definitely helped with the discomfort of my Mercury opposing his Mars, and his Mercury squares to my Venus and Mercury.

First, I’m surprised how many people who happen to be responding to this have Mercury as the ruler of DC. I just think it’s funny. Do we all like to analyze and write about how partnership works for us, lol?

DC is Virgo, and my husband’s Venus and Mars are in my 7th about 6 degrees from the DC. Mercury rules my DC. My Mercury sextiles his Mercury and Sun. My Venus/Pluto conjuncts his Sun/Mercury. His 7th is Taurus. I think that’s why it works well my Venus is on his Sun.

Taurus is on my DSC so Venus is the ruler.

Does your descendant ruler and/or planets in your 7th house describe your ideal partner’s personality? (taking into consideration house placement and aspects)

I have no planets in the 7th house but my ideal partner would also be my friend. I prefer relationships that start out as friendships. Venus is in Aquarius. Ideally I prefer partners who are honest, intelligent, and funny, which are actually qualities of Sagittarius, my Mars sign. I'm not attracted to Taurean-like people at all or people who have a strong Venus on their chart.

Have you had the ruler of your descendant in your partner’s chart aspect your personal planets? For instance, if your descendant ruler is Mercury, are you attracted to people whose Mercury in their own chart aspect your personal planets?

I don't have a partner but I'll use the person I'm interested in. Actually, yes. As the ruler of my DSC is Venus, Venus in his chart is tightly conjunct my Sun.

What about exchanges where your descendant ruler aspects their descendant ruler or the ruler of your descendant in their chart aspects the ruler of their descendant in your chart?

Nope. Those are untouched. However, his DSC ruler is Mercury and I have a strong 3rd house, plus Mercury rules my 8th and 11th houses. I think that appeals to him in terms of attraction.

Can you check the synastry of your best relationship for aspects to the 7th ruler? Not so good relationships too?

I don't know birth times so that's difficult for me to do.

So, I'm adding to this. His Venus does sextile my ASC and therefore trines my DSC. Our DSCs also trine each other.

Do trines to the DSC matter?

I’ve wondered about it too. I think they both apply somehow.

I’d say yes. I think Descendant ruler to Asc is especially powerful. I could see how at love first sight happens with this sometimes.
