Saturn Entering 6th House

Hey all, hope you don’t mind a question from a slight hypochondriac (I’m actually diagnosed with illness anxiety so I’m not poking fun).

Earlier this year Saturn entered my 6th house and I promptly had a nervous breakdown and had to start anxiety medications. I also began having health issues - nothing that couldn’t be managed, but it was still overwhelming to have so many things pop up at once health wise.

Of course Saturn decided to go retrograde and has been back in the fifth house and will stay there until December when it moves back into my 6th house yet again - and it was such a horrible transition the first time I find myself panicked at the thought of this happening again. I’ve been driving my doctors batty trying to keep an eye on every possible health issue that could pop up.

Anyway, my questions are -

1) Do you think a planet entering a house for the second time causes less of an impact or a bigger impact than the first time around?

2) Are the Saturn transiting sixth house rumors true - is this going to be a time where I’m hit with all sorts of health maladies, or is that fatalism at its finest?

I’m also a bit worried about Pluto going opposite my natal sun soon. The first thing Google suggest when you type in transit Pluto opposite natal sun is death, so you can imagine how nervous that makes me feel. Transiting Pluto will be in the sixth house as well.

I hope I don’t come across as crazy or neurotic - maybe I am, though. ??‍♀️ I’ve had a hard time with my anxieties this year and I’m just wary of things getting so much worse as I move forward. Any advice is appreciated

Hey I think your question is totally reasonable and appropriate here! Right off the bat, it sounds like you've got your 6th house work cut out for you. Since you are already diagnosed with some form of mental illness, I would try to start there if I were you. And actually, I was in a similar position, about 3.5 years ago, when Saturn entered my 6th house. It was the end of my first semester of grad school, I had a meltdown, and I ended up dropping out and changing my direction in life entirely.

I have Saturn conjunct my 6th house cusp, meaning that was also my (first) Saturn return, so you can imagine it was a stressful time for me. Other than my mental breakdown, the only other serious health issue was an infected root canal that was due to an old injury. It caused me a lot of pain at the time, but the dentist fixed it easily and there was no further issue. All other maladies were more in the realm of things that could be cured by healthier routines and habits, like low back pain (which went away as soon I started physical therapy to improve my core strength.)

During this period, Pluto also crossed my Dsc (another transit that can produce scary google results if you look in the wrong places) For me, nobody died, but I did move across the country to be with my now-husband, and my whole living situation changed. This meant I had to find new dentist/doctors, start going to a new gym, adjust my diet - all 6th house stuff.

Unfortunately I didn't cover all the bases when Saturn was in my 6th, and I've recently had another mental/emotional breakdown with Saturn now in my 7th. But hey - I've got more tools in my toolbox from that 6th house transit, and I'm continuing to make progress. Neuroses can be very deeply ingrained and connected to all sorts of other trauma or parts of the subconscious, so try to be gentle on yourself while you try to work through it. There is help out there, and tons of resources available online. I bet you can find some professional therapy or DIY self-care just as easily as you can look up illnesses and transits on the internet.

The first time Saturn transited my 6th house was during the first 2.5 years of my life. I had a lot of ear infections and needed ear tubes and adenoidectomy. I'm not sure I can compare the two experiences because they were so entirely different and related to different stages of life.

Lastly, T. Pluto opposed my sun when I was 5 years old. Obviously I didn't die in the literal sense, but I'm sure I went through some significant transformation although I can't remember the details. FYI, This  interpretation for Pluto opposite Sun doesn't say anything about death: https://cafeastrology.com/plutotransits.html

I had sick pets w/ Saturn T my 6th house. I did a lot of treatments for them-- diet, meds, herbals, etc. I had my own health issues, too. As Saturn conj. the Desc., my health immed. improved and I started moving on (7th above the horizon ends the period of obscurity).

You have to take more time/work to stay healthy then, but Saturn is always work. I had difficult other transits at the time, too. Saturn is fear and in the 6th so what you're feeling is right on target of the transit. Try meditation, exercise, eating healthy, etc..

What houses are your Pluto/Sun? That's usually power issues w/ others, the opposition, Sun can relate to males in your life and/or authority figures, etc., standing your own ground is nec.

Oh lord, everyone here (at EE) went through this transit with me. I think I mostly just thought I was dying when in fact I was not. I worked harder than I ever have in my life physically and as a result ran myself into the ground. I was physically worn down to the bone.

I had one problem after the next it seemed but nothing anyone could pinpoint. When I finally released that physically demanding job I did get better but at this point it was like I had PTSD over all the things I thought were going to happen. (that did not)

I have never in my life been to more doctors looking for problems. At one point my mother said, if you keep looking you can be sure at some point you'll find something.

I call that my hypochondriac transit. I had pluto going through too so - bonus ... omg it was terrible. For a good three years I swore I was dying and no one could talk me out of it. But, here I am to tell the story.

My youngest son is getting ready to experience this. The only good news is I can tell him what to prepare for and he will be able to remember what I went through because he watched it all and scratched his head the whole time.

You are going to be fine. Get ahold of your headspace. Really work on that if you can. Almost 100% of it was hard hard work, then some mental thing I was going through that made me think i was dead man walking.

Hope this helps.

@soup Thanks for your response. I have Pluto entering the sixth right after Saturn leaves it in 2024. I feel exhausted just thinking about it. It feels like all of the work I’ll do will be useless if Pluto steps in right after and demolishes everything. I’m trying to stay positive but it’s definitely difficult. I know there are positive upcoming transits in all of this. For some reason we always focus on the challenging ones.

Pluto does scare me because it’s a slow moving planet and I’ll have it in the sixth house for a big portion of my life. I’m sure there will be times when it’s chilling and not causing any issues and then times when it hits a personal planet somehow and changes everything. In terms of sixth house matters it seems I will be working my butt off for a long while there. I have no planets in the sixth but my north node resides there so maybe all of this is about my own personal destiny and fulfilling that in some way.

It’s in my 6th house now. I haven’t been exactly health conscious throughout this transit, no major health concerns but I’m relatively young. When Pluto in Cap first entered my 6th, I had some random health problems brought on by stress, but nothing major. They are gone now. For me, it manifested more in work, turned me into somewhat of a workaholic. I’m very driven in my career, more so than any other area atm. Doing a lot of overtime hours. On the bright side, I’ve been able to save money so I feel more secure. It helped my self esteem. But, I am tired, not gonna lie.
I take CBD oil for stress relief.

I’m right there with you. 6H, opp Natal Sun (29 Leo). I had a sudden health issue in January but smooth sailing now. I’m very worried about T Pluto/Saturn when they get to my 7th. My husband will be 78 this year and, while I know nobody lives forever, I’m dreading the possibilities of the 7th H transit.
