*Bumping* for two reasons:
1) I just got news that someone I know who has been dry for a while fell off the wagon. We're not sure, but there may be other substances involved as well.
2) The Jupiter - Neptune square is very close to exact. Word to the wise: ya might wanna watch the alcohol intake this weekend, kiddies....TGIF and all, but thought I would give a head's up!
A few drinks while pregnant may be okay, study finds
Meanwhile, in Europe, women say "duh".
I saw news about that this past week too, nightowl - and was going to link it, so thanks!
I think most of my generation (and those preceeding me) are saying "duh" to that study. I think we turned out okay.
The reccommandation here has been no more than 2 units at time, and no more than 5 a week. But most women I've known have found drinking alcohol during the first two trimesters appalling anyway. In Italy, and it seems rural France, very few women have drank, anyway. Although that's changing.
Also, I just read about a recent study which debunked the correlation between male infertility and smoking. Apparently, it doesn't kill your sperms, just you.
I dunno, I find it interesting. Seems like these kinds of studies come out when times are tough, economically and spiritually. Unemployment rate goes sky high, suddenly a glass of wine a day is heart healthy.
night_owl, it truly is. When combined to the more relaxed lifestyle generally speaking. I only know America from the movies, but I think the mentality there is very similar to what it's here (Protestant Northern Europe), work hard, play hard. People use alcohol to get off the working mode and/or reward themselves. I've been guilty of this in the past few years, and the whole cycle makes me sick. Now, there's a Jupiterian side to this, eating well, having friends around, that has been more prevalent in The Southern Europe. That, I can see being truly good for people. Or maybe I'm completely Neptuned here (Neptune moving to my 7th). LOL.
