For some reason Virgo comes up, but I can't say why. I think it's coming from Tarot.

Did you "come out" with any specific transot or progression?

i would take a guess at different reasons including:

self-containment - resourceful, able to find what one needs within...2nd - 8th house comes to mind, scorpio, but also capricorn

eccentricity - aquarius, as obvious, but others

invidualism - aries...going one's own way, test of courage

wounded- any water sign, or a chart set for love with difficult aspects...such as a 7th house venus, or venus ruled chart squared by saturn

@blue yeah I'd agree with that. I have pluto conjunct my scorp moon in the 4th...and I would definitely consider myself a hermit.

blue, I was a hermit until the mid 90s. Pluto was in Scorpio when I was in 'hermit' mode. Pluto opposite my Sun was the transit.

Actually, now that I think of it, I was a hermit for more than 11 years. It's more like the first 15 years of my life. Once Highschool hit I was a little more social.
