3 points are reqd. for hermit.
Life alone means 3rd and 12th houses.
Religious means when Jupiter connects with 3rd and 12th houses.
When Saturn is the significator of 3rd and 7th and 9th and 12th houses, that person does not meet/talk to other people.

I'm pretty sure I could qualify. Chart ruler/Venus in the 12th house in Virgo, Mercury in the 12th house, Virgo stellium with a hard aspect to Saturn, Moon in the 8th house. Lots of private and reclusive elements in my chart. I'm a homebody, but my Mercurial nature needs mental stimulation. The need to communicate keeps me interacting with the outside world.

Richard "Dick" Proenneke is the definition of a hermit.

He moved to Alaska in the late 50's. Self-educated, ex-military and great at building, he built his own cabin and lived in the wilderness of Alaska for 30+ years. No kids, nothing. Had a neighbor who by plane visited, or Proenneke would take a boat and paddle for HOURS to visit and get a sack of potatoes.

His birth time isn't recorded but his DOB is 4 May, 1916.

I wonder how this 12 year old post stacks against the current situation where being a hermit is pretty much normal.
