"Your urge to look after people takes butterfly wings in airy Gemini, making you a wonderful person to talk to about anything, since you listen avidly and respond generously with a stream of suggestions, from good to bad and everything in between. You have something of the idealist in you, and are open to most new ideas, especially those offering practical help to you and your loved ones. You can become passionate about educational causes and about building community. Ceres bestows a practical cast to your intelligence and helps to ground Gemini flights of fancy in more sensible and achievable terms. You can be a formidable speaker and debater, especially for 'good' causes, and can have a real knack for relating to young people on their own level."

This interpretation is from the Deluxe Asteroid Report.

I have Ceres in the 11th house in Gemini.  Throughout my life I certainly did talk to people about anything and everything.  I was the problem solver for people who could not get along either in the family or at work.  And at work, every job I had required me to talk with people.  I became a "sort of" counselor.  From staff coming to me with their personal problems to our clients coming to my office to "tell me" family problems asking for help. I had four jobs where I used the ability to talk to help in the job. The last one being a VP at a local Credit Union.  Everything is thrown at the VP. From solving who has legal rights to an account, to managing staff.   I was also in charge of all the death claims and the life insurance death benefit claims. This was a local credit union.  Up until 1996, the credit union provided a death benefit which in earlier times would pay for a burial. They would match a clients savings account  up to $2000 which was generous.  Clients would have to come to me with death certificates, proof of who they were, etc.  I did this from 1978 to 1996. I heard so many stories of how relatives would steal from each other and I heard the good stories as well. I have Pluto in the 12th house right on the cusp and I thought this was why I had these types of jobs.  I related Pluto to death. But I now with these comments I see another possibility  that Ceres in the house of "being seen in the world" and clients thinking me the expert would come to me with their stories, and me finding answers for them is yet another answer to having Ceres in Gemini.  Now that I am retired, I rarely get asked to solve any problems.

Thank you Elsa for expanding on this discussion of Ceres. I have grown closer and closer to Ceres while learning astrology. I have Gemini Ceres in the 6th house. I am sort of a "nurturer" in the workplace lol. I'm the one to start a discussion about anything and usually my co-workers like to "bounce ideas" off of me and we end up brainstorming much of the time (I am a research assistant for a university).

I love to make presentations (oral or visual) for my job which comes with the territory as a graduate student research assistant.

It is interesting that you mentioned "relating to young people on their own level" because I typically volunteer to outreach to K-12 students to pursue higher education and I always enjoyed conversing with kids about their dreams for the future. I thought of becoming a teacher at the K-12 level at some point then but you never know I just may do that (Gemini rules my 6th house so my career interests are full of endless possibilities lol)

My Gemini Ceres is in the house of "routine" but my day to day activities are never routine which is fine with me Smile
