Have you looked into the mythology of Uranus?

Uranus (meaning sky aka God of the Sky) was born of Gaea (Mother Earth) in what can be said as a form of virgin birth, which in itself was rather unusual. Uranus and Gaea, unified Heaven and Earth producing kids whom Uranus detested and hid in the body of Gaea. Gaea increasingly got uncomfortable and wanted freedom, to be liberated from the kids in her body. So one day unbeknown to Uranus, one of the kids, Kronos (Saturn) ambushed Uranus castrating him and thus securing freedom

So you could argue that Uranus was "controlled" only through "liberation" by castrating the physical body that restricted. I think this mythology also tells a story of the upcoming Saturn-Uranus square.

@osiris-wife I hadn't been thinking of that, thanks for sharing. Wow, I can definitely see how that could apply to the square! Uranus returns to the degree of the upcoming square tomorrow.

@osiris-wife

The upcoming Saturn Uranus square - (Taurus Aquarius) is about the reattachment of Uranus with his generative organs.

Who else had trouble with wanting to be free from "kids in her body" ?

Space Cadet,

You are on to something.

We are unconsciously complicit in the manifestation of Uranian changes thru a link Uranus has with the IC and the Black Moon - we are basically "doing it"  to ourselves.

I like the way you tie the 10 and 11 th houses and Saturn and Uranus together. A similar type of connection exists between the 7 th and 8 th houses thru Venus.

This linkage between Venus, Uranus, and Saturn is emerging with the square configurations showing up in January between Taurus and Aquarius.

This topic makes me think of a few things:

1. Stochastic processes, and stochastic screens. I don't know where to go with this, but there are mathematical ways to compute or simulate randomness... And I guess Astrology is kind of like the inverse of that? The zodiac is like a filter through which we can interpret seemingly random events and understand how they are not totally random after all? Just layered and complex!

2. The people who sell lottery tickets say "you can't win if you don't play." I don't know if Uranus works like that in nature, but the fact that the energy is associated with community makes me think that there's more to be gained if you "put yourself out there" in some sense. I think the simple decision to accept the ubiquity of "groundlessness," can give one the confidence to take a risk and bet on one's self. Be the Uranus you want to see in the world Smile

@cocopeaches You have a point, more so, considering Uranian changes often have an impersonal message, no matter how personally devastating. So, if you want something, give it/give in/give up to/for your community.

I suppose we could take this in two different directions, but maybe we will end up in the same place.

I think that natal Uranian energy can be harnessed, if you will. This probably takes a lot of intelligence and the ability to read the situation and see a few steps ahead. I was going to say that this would be for a positive and productive outcome but I don’t think that’s necessarily the case. One could use the energy for a variety of desired outcomes.

Of course, the way the energy is directed or not also depends on aspects to the planet.

I’m an Aquarius sun. I also have Uranus in my first house, 8° from my AC, and it hits a lot in my chart. So maybe it’s the Virgo that can’t see the forest for the trees.

And as I frequently do, I come here and “think out loud” 🙃

I don't think you can control it but I do think you can (and should) work with it.

@elsa Ah…yes. That makes more sense.
