I am not depressed. I am rather happy and would like to stay happy, so my negative energy radar is on overdrive. When I smell funk from people I don’t know I'm scooting because misery begets misery. Besides, can you help a person that is drowning? Compassion? Also, a drowning person often lashes out (Mars sq. Jupiter/Saturn/Pluto).

It’s interesting you brought this topic up because I just heard today from someone that manages a private wellness program for corporate clients that the number of inbound calls for suicide prevention they are getting have escalated. So much so, they are recruiting more people to keep up with the demand and extending hours of operations.

For many the immediate effects of isolation due to social distancing might very well be depression, but I also think there are other longer-term effects that we may only see in years to come.

No. I have felt happier in 2020 than in recent years. Lockdown went quite well for me. It gave me more time to meditate and for spiritual activities.

Saturn is transiting my natal moon in 12th right now which I thought would be depressing but it's not. I've taken on more responsibility - caregiving for elderly family and it's challenging but not depressing.

Since the end of 2019 I started to live a healthier lifestyle too - I quit drinking and smoking and I exercise daily. This has had a very positive impact on my mental health too.

Saturn/Jup trine Sun all year so spared from most of the heavy heavy stuff. I feel for others going through it though.

Saturn and Pluto, to me, are the heavies for depression, but Neptune, w/ loss can lead to it, too.

This makes me think. I’m usually not depressed , but with Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter squaring my Pluto and Moon , I feel depressed severly depressed. Dealing with violent sibling, power plays. I’m often tired and only think: where is the way out ? When does it stop. I’m laying lo, and hoping that December will bring much needed relief .

@carmenBeing "tired" can mask for depression. That's heavy, all of those square Pluto/Moon. Just try to hang on and survive and come out the other end.

@nan888 You are right, its like a bulldozer is constantly driving back and forth over my body and can't get up. So i lay low, and hope when Saturn and Jupiter move on i will resurrect. Can't stand the Power Plays anymore tho. Thank you for your reply <3

The aspects that i think that give me deep feelings of depression:

Sun quincunx Pluto

Sun square Neptune

Mercury conjunct Saturn

Mars conjunct chiron

Pluto in the 6th

A blocked (through hard aspects) or weak Mars, imo, can also cause depression. Mine is squared by Sun/Pluto in Libra (also by North Node and Midheaven). Think of an idealist who has to confront hard, cold reality on a regular basis. You might want to do XYZ to improve your living or working environment but doing so would cause problems for others. Or your timing's wrong or the money's not there to do everything to you want to do. Or the energy to do what you envision is not there. You either have to find workarounds or live with an environment that is not what you want.
