Is anyone here familiar with the work of Alice Bailey? She wrote about Esoteric Astrology.

Someone sent me a link to a document titled "Ten point plan of the NWO" that is attributed to her, and spread all over the internet. I have not come across a primary source of publication and it just doesn't seem legit to me.

She contributed to Theosophy. I was mildly interested in Theosophy when I first got interested in Astrology, so I started reading some of her books via archive.org. The 10 point plan doesn't seem consistent with what that she actually wrote about. I am very fascinated by her thoughts on the Age of Aquarius in a particular book called "Education in the New Age."

Have other parties interpolated different ideas with hers after her death? I am super curious, so thanks in advance for any info on the subject.

I got curious when I noticed her maiden name, the same as a quirky young self-appointed "society portrait painter" I met decades ago. The Latrobe-Bateman family had some noteable members including an Australian statesman and a noted architect and landscapist.

There is mention of the NWO matter in the Wiki listing of her Arcana School and Lucid Publishing Co., with two books listed as sources in ref. 81 & 82.

Alice spent some time and even met her second husband at the Theosophy Center in Los Angeles, but they moved on soon after. Thought you might enjoy this article about her roller coaster life and the amazing array of homes she occupied...

@Warped Thank you so much for responding! I found Isobel Blackthorn's site, but I did not see this particular page with the family history and their stately abodes. Now I am even more intrigued. I may just need to read her whole biography now. I would love to look up the artist that you met, too. There appear to be multiple artists in the family (Charles Joseph La Trobe and Edward La Trobe Bateman)

Yes, the NWO is definitely a major theme in AB's writings. But to me, the "ten point plan" seems posthumously contrived. My personal opinion is in line with *that of this article: https://isobelblackthorn.com/2021/03/11/re-visiting-alice-baileys-10-point-plan/

Her second husband was a 33rd degree Freemason, and he lived until 1977. Together they founded the Lucis Trust, which has "consultative status" with the United Nations to this day. I didn't know New Age spirituality was present in the UN, but apparently they have a reading room in NYC. Last night I listened to their New Moon podcast, which was a sort of guided meditation, with references to Alice Bailey's esoteric astrology stuff, and the stated purpose of elevating the goals of the UN and promoting world peace...

It comes full circle with connections to the Transhumanist movement via this podcaster:

I've nothing good to say about the UN!  I had read before about Lucis connections, though not the origin.  And various takes on the New Age movement and it's purpose.  Anything can be co-opted as a tool for power and control.

The flamboyant young artist was Julian, son of Basil and Frances, grandson of Frederic.  He appears to have died in 1994 at age 31, but I haven't found an obituary.  If you see one, please share.

^It's easy enough see how that is probably what has happened in this case. I'm really glad that I connected a few dots, and now have some awareness of how New Age ideas made it into other arenas. I'm also glad that I know at least a little bit of Astrology (major thanks to Elsa of course) - which is just enough to question what is being presented through mainstream avenues, and also not throw the baby out with the bath water.

I didn't see an obit for Julian, but I did enjoy finding some of his artwork online, and this photo seems to say it all! https://www.artsy.net/artwork/steven-arnold-portrait-of-julian-latrobe

Funny enough the artist who’s picture you posted was a dear family friend in my husbands family who I was lucky to see his work at a recent gallery show in Los Angeles and felt so deeply connected to him- turns out he had the same birthday as my late Father and my rising sign and degree is conjunct their sun! We were gifted a beautiful painting by Steven Arnold as a wedding gift from his art estate it’s a portrait of Salvador Dali and his wife
