This is something I've wondered about for awhile.
Does Pluto in Cap or (Pluto in the 10th) destroy the possibility of building a career? Does it kill a person's sense of ambition?
I'm wondering because for years people have tried to get me to see that I can aim higher in life, that I can do better jobwise and careerwise than I'm doing. I know they're right--the potential is there--but I lack the confidence to even TRY to move forward with this. I mean, I can't even envsion myself in a real career as opposed to a low-paying job with no real future in it. It's like I don't think I'm even capable of more than mediocre work, even though this notion has been disproven, over and over.
I'm just wondering if it's possible for someone with this Pluto placement to even HAVE a career, or does it kill off anything you start in that arena?
I'd work on killing off attitudes of powerlessness. you can be a career phoenix! grab your birthright of a powerful career!
@satori That is a VERY good point. I have struggled with that my whole life. Thank you.
Any 10th house Pluto people relate?
This is the kind of post which worries me for some of you young women on the boards. You see some placement or upcoming transit and paralyse yourself with fear and lack of hope.
It's the downside of an interest in (almost I could say, a dependence on) astrology. You let what you've read out there or what someone else has said run your life and direct your choices
Please, it's up to you how you handle a transit or a placement, and Pluto anywhere can be a powerful tool if you work out how to use it.
Pluto in the 10th can empower you.
Hi blue rose:
The function of Saturn is to stir up patterns of primal security fears so that they can be transcended over time. You're where you are now -- feeling there's no point, why would *you* get to succeed, why would you deserve to, you don't even want to try...blah blah blah -- is meant to be replaced over time with the wisdom that those security fears are not relevant in the least.
What often happens is that increasing pressure will force the native into positions where they are just going to *have* to pony up and perform in some arena. Of course you'd rather go of your own free will than be forced but we're human beings, we're not gonna do anything we don't want to do unless we have to.
I think also that you are getting mixed messages when it comes to your family's opinion of what you are doing with your life. When they say you can do better -- do they mean you are worth more, or that you are not good enough for them because your career isn't what they consider successful?
If it's the second one, you are just going to hang out in the attitude that you're not good enough because you're taking messages on from these other people. What you're doing with your career could be *just fine* for you.
Anyway...NO it does not mean failure of a career. It means that Saturn is slowly teaching you the emotional pattern that will lead to success.
