I am rarely superstitious,  but when it happens, I don't cross it.

You?

Same. I would have said I'm not superstitious, but I realise there's a lot of things I observe - 'touch wood', not opening an umbrella indoors, no new shoes on the table and many more!

Yes, very superstitious.  I didn't know about the Shoes on a Table, and wondered about the origins of Touch Wood, so I looked them up and found enough fascinating history of superstitions to read for hours!

@jana I have never heard of either of these. I see now, my people aren't superstitious!

What is St. Anthony bread?  I remember asking St. Anthony to help you find lost items, and burying a St. Joseph statue upside down in the lawn to help you sell your house, but bread?

It was blessed bread you got, made and shared.

I did not know about the St Joseph statue. Awesome Smile

That's lovely!  Glad I asked rather than just looking it up.

No, I'm just a little stitious.

The one thing I can’t bring myself to do is walk under a ladder. I’ve opened umbrellas inside plenty of times and placed new shoe boxes temporarily on a table. I guess I’m not that superstitious; but no, I’m never walking under a ladder 🪜 🙂.

I mainly hate crossing poles. I will say a prayer if someone crosses a pole with me lol. I believe black cats are good luck, the opposite of the Western superstition. I do the knock on wood! Mid conversation too lol

Does heeding warnings in dreams count?
