My grow lights got here. I put one together (easy) and I think it's going to work very well.
Everything I've planet is growing and looks healthy. So far, so good!
Indoor garden looks promising. I'm perplexed by those for some reason. Like it's this easy?
I hope this is the case. People in apartments can grow food, maybe easier than they think.
We went to the property today to check kn the last of the pumpkins and squash. We got about twice as much as this basket and one pumpkin. There are many butternut squashes but they are green and the vines are still good so we will go back next week. And maybe there is one pumpkin left out there. We aren’t going to do watermelon next year. We picked some too early, then some went bad in the field and we found one that was ripe but it was eaten by bugs or something. So, next year is pumpkins and various squashes. Right now the pumpkins are decorating our decks. And we gave a lot away. And I’m cooking them as they go bad (it’s better now that it’s not so hot). And we picked up some corn there and I will be blanching tomorrow!
Per the Cooking thread, here is my eggplant. It’s tiny but 🤷🏻♀️. I insist on growing them but they never get big or something steals them haha
We only have maybe a dozen squash, butternut and spaghetti, left on the property but they need one, two weeks. We will keep checking. It’s been dry and warm lately. It’s exciting to go out there. All the corn has been harvested.
I love this dress for late summer/fall 😍. We picked a half orange pumpkin and I was eating a small ear of corn 🙂 On the other side of that treeline it dips down and the Connecticut River is there.
My friend and I made the front page of our local newspaper for what we've been doing at the community garden. We'll be hosting a harvest celebration in a couple of weeks, with a tribute to our friend who passed away in February. We're working on getting the place spruced up for guests. I have no idea how many people will show up, but we're offering light refreshments, so it could be a crowd.
