Do you adhere to this idea, a friend of a friend is a friend?

My husband made this remark, today. "Any friend of X, is a friend of mine..."

I agree with him, but realized I don't hear this anymore.  Does you friendship extend to your friend's friends?

Sometimes. It depends on how frequently I see them, or rather, interact with them. It’s funny…I’m thinking of two people right now. They’re both friends of a friend. One I consider a friend because she’s been in my circle for maybe 20 years. The other one has, too but I think I wasn’t as aware and she’s not around all the time (lives a distance away). I like her! But I wouldn’t say “friend” yet.

lol I guess I have criteria and don’t realize it. Maybe it’s how frequently I interact with the person. I sometimes call my coach my friend because although we only do lifting stuff together, we have talked about a lot of different things. And if I don’t consider one a “friend” that doesn’t mean the opposite. I could like someone very much! Just hasn’t reached that level yet.

@allie120 I think it's a good way to be. This came up, because our neighbor will be moving his (boy)friend in. I told me husband, I was excited to meet him.

He said, 'Any friend of X's is a friend of mine."

And I thought, I'm glad I am married to someone like this.

Also, the exercise ladies are like this... I am like this... I think I want to be around people who are like this.

It's about love spreading, as it should!

I'm talking about friends who you KNOW are decent. They tend to run with other decent people and this is how "good" spreads, I think.

I guess, I'd say, I am simpatico with this concept.

As for, "your enemy is my enemy", not so much.  Many people hate half the world.  I can't follow suit on this!
