Have you ever considered what being bored costs you? I think it's better to stay interested and also interesting.

When I was a kid I had such a hard time understanding what people meant by “I’m bored” or “this is boring”. It truly puzzled me. If I wasn’t doing an activity that interested me I was keeping myself very busy in my head 😂

As an adult I do get bored on occasion and it manifests more when I have too much energy and feel restless. I can usually find something to do pretty quickly though.

I don’t know, I imagine it could cost you a lot. I guess it could cost you your ability to think creatively, your freedom possibly. ?

My Gemini Grandma said if you are bored it's because you are boring.

I always have something interesting to do. Even today. Even at this age. Way too many books I haven't read, things I haven't learned and places I have not seen. I will never get to it all. I get uneasy because I don't have enough time.

I think it's interesting, a person's entire life could change on this very small idea.

As a small child I was bored in school, but deemed too timid to skip a grade.  As an adult I was bored in some monotonous jobs, which prompted not always the best job changes from a financial standpoint. Also prompted some idle fantasizing that led to a few absurd romantic entanglements!

But beyond that, as @soup said, there'll never be enough time to read all the books or go to all the places that beckon.

@warped just my list of 'to read' 😵‍💫 I get anxious thinking there is no way I'm going to be able to get to it all. I have a to do list every day so I get to every thing!

@soup

I'm surrounded by hundreds of books I've not yet read.  But the "things to learn" is even more pressing, takes up more time every day.  Then in exhaustion I escape to some fun, mindless reading for a break instead of giving my eyes a break with non-reading chores that go neglected -- chores are boring!

@warped When we moved so many things I held on to were either donated, sold or thrown away. (hard for a Taurus moon) I put my foot down and said, if you touch my books, or my music we will have great problems. My husband said you have plastic bins and bookshelves filled with books you've already read. Donate them to the library or a church. I said... If you touch my books, I will not move another inch. No bargaining with the books or the music. They are here in a much smaller house in bins in a room downstairs on wire shelves up high in case of a water issue.

At Christmas people give me gift cards to buy books. My husband gives me a gift card for books at almost every gift occasion. I read every day. Every single day. And I learn something every day. Every single day. It's glorious, isn't it?
