I think too that there are people with a pathological abundance of trust.

Yes, I have met one person like that. Here is his chart.

How does someone who feels like that learn to trust themselves?

Is it possible with so little self awareness?
Is it just a very slow journey?

@gorse I would like to answer this but I am not really clear on the question.  Are you saying the person doesn't trust others because they don't trust themselves?  Where does the lack of self-awareness tie in?

@elsa Yes, I think anyone who doesn’t trust others is projecting their lack of faith in themselves outwards.

I’ve noticed this person has an extreme lack of self awareness and doesn’t feel comfortable taking responsibility for their own actions, which must create a sort of inner confusion that must be hard to trust from.

@gorse it sounds as it they're blind to things that are core to getting on in life. I'm sorry.  It would be nice if someone could help.

Our sense making institutions are under attack. The means by which we learned what is really happening (government, media and academia) have been corrupted thouroughly, as evidenced by the popularity of the 2+2=5 meme. Dissenting opinions and inconvenient truths are no longer allowed and witch hunting those with the temerity to voice them is endemic. It's the witch hunt of people who don't tow the ever-moving line,  that produces a good deal of our lack of trust. For example The Biden admin is now firing people who have smoked pot in the past.....but ignoring Kamala's admission of the same "crime". It's that kind of thing that makes one not trust anyone. What stupid thing did I say or fail to say? What  will be held against me in the future? Yah lack of trust makes sense in those circumstances.

@elsa

I agree. Yet my husband and I have been told our lack of trust is extreme and unwarranted lol "If you're a good person (by their definition) you have nothing to worry about lol

@jana You and your husband are listening to that still small voice inside of you. Some call it the holy spirit. You know the difference between right and wrong in your listening.

It's people just like you who bring me a great deal of hope for the future. You have consciousness. People say to us that consciousness is unwarranted when they tell us our lack of trust is unwarranted.

I think that the type of good people that you and your husband are is timeless and sourced in the forever. Those who oppose that, their definition of a good person changes almost daily. They may find that soon they are to be the next victims.

@jana, I couldn't agree more with everything you said.  I've lost trust in just about everything.

I worked for a few years at a college back in the 80's and though it was liberal, dissenting opinions were welcomed about anything.  It was a very stimulating environment.  Academia today is about indoctrination, not discussion.  You're learning to comply and not think on your own.

The good thing is that all the masks are off of the PTB's thanks to Trump.  They hate him so much they showed their true faces to everyone and now we all can see what they are really all about.  It ain't pretty.  I really credit the Pluto/Saturn in Capricorn transit for destroying and exposing the big, ugly truth about them and a lot of things in our country.
