Psychic and energetic protection.

I’m working in an environment right now where there is some toxicity and what I can only call insanity. I can break this down into two people, each embodying one of these. I do have a really strong aura and overall feel protected but these energies/people I think do affect me on some level. I have Neptune in the twelfth and a water Moon so I’m pretty open in a way.

So, at this point, I’m ok, I’m not going to quit or anything. What I really want to talk about is psychic and auric protection. I do a lot of things on my own (amulets, sound healing, reiki, meditation, ritual baths). I really wish I could do a cleansing at the my actual workplace. I’ve thought about leaving small pieces of selenite or hiding a chunk somewhere. I was curious what you all do, if anything and how your natal chart plays into it. I can attribute most of what I do to Neptune in the 12th.

I have a Pisces Moon so I think I resonate with the Neptune in 12th vibe.

I learnt crystal healing for a year and my teacher was obsessed with grounding and protection, however water element can make this very challenging to succeed at fully as I would often try to explain to her!

When it's super turgid toxic I go for obsidian. I also found metals like pyrite and haematite are super strengthening. In these types of situations you can't mess about, you need to feel you have armour. I always hold haematite when flying or travelling it helps block out all the funk of energy stuck in the plane. Pyrite helped me stay strong in a very energy consuming office. Smoky quartz is also good, I would say it is medium level protection but a great balancer if you wear it as jewellery.

Definitely recommend putting crystals in the workplace, tiny ones will do just as good a job so you can hide them in places.

Taking breaks regularly outside and if there are any nature elements, get near them, and use water as much as possible. You can run your hands in the faucet while visualising cleansing while at work, and shower or get moving water on you when you get home. Also drink loads and imagine it is cleansing at the same time.

@sophiab Thanks for the tips! I wasn’t a believer in crystals until a couple years ago when I really started to tune in to them. I do wear an onyx and sterling silver (I really really feel good and beautiful and powerful with sterling silver on) ring every day that sleeps on my altar when Im at home. I really like black stones so I think I’ll take your suggestion and hide some obsidian and/or find a piece of jewelry with it. (Btw, I took your suggestion of putting shungite on my phone. It’s the insane person I work with who inspired me to ask about that. I still got a ridiculous group text yesterday but it wasn’t super long lol)

I also really appreciate your take on water. That’s another thing- it’s so dryyyyy in there. What do you think about those water bottles with crystals in them? I shower the minute I get home, mainly because I’m a barber and I get hair on me but I’ve noticed that it also does what you mention. Breaks  are hard where I work (it’s a really busy environment) but I’ll try more to get outside.

As far as grounding for air and water types, my practice has shown me that it’s actually more balancing to work with the element itself rather than it’s opposing element. So if I’m feeling unfocused for instance, grounding doesn’t seem to help, but bringing in some air element (talking, journaling, incense, breathing) does seem to. That’s just my experience. I’ve also noticed that people who are really into grounding seem to be the least grounded. I don’t want to criticize anyone, it’s just an observation Ive made.

@libra-noir I agree with your observation about non grounded obsessional grounders lol. My teacher wasn't really grounded. What I realised is that you can't be grounded if you're blocking or denying emotional experiences. The more I've grieved stuff the more rooted I get, so I think that's essential.

The water bottles with crystals - I think they are beautiful and a nice way to gift yourself. A bit of a novelty but so pretty. You can also make your own crystal elixirs with non toxic crystals left for a while in a glass of water.

I find walking is my go to for cleansing my energy, it suits my Pisces Moon Jupiter and Sag NN, but I also like direct contact with the earth when possible, Taurus.

So glad the shungite helped. I find crystals are so super friendly and supportive in general. I often doubt them but they stick with me and get me through stuff. Funny how they feel like buddies!

Before I retired, I was becoming too sensitive. I have a Cancer Moon and Pisces Mars. To help, I wore a citrine crystal and kept black rocks in my pockets. I did wear a black obsidian ring, but it shattered.

@sue-ellen Thank you. It’s interesting about your ring. I saw a lady one time with a bracelet of a gigantic piece of turquoise with a crack in it. She had a really beautiful presence. I asked her about her bracelet. She said that she’s heard that protective stones crack when they have warded off some kind of negative attack or energy.

The most powerful grounding and protective stone for me is smoky quartz. I’ve tried obsidian, onyx, black tourmaline, and smoky quartz works best for me. Not sure why.

I also have a sterling ring with onyx and it’s one of my favorite rings.

You can try this thing Damian Echols does where you release bad energy into the earth. You basically let the toxic energy drain out of your body through your feet and into the earth. It’s a grounding technique.

I have Neptune in 12th and a Pisces Moon. I've built up quite an arsenal of psychic protection over the years.

I was using a beautiful piece of black tourmaline, but that's disappeared (it's done its' job), so now I use a rough piece of Garnet, just carried about with me in my pocket. You can also pop pieces of this into your bra if you don't have pockets.

When the energy is particularly bad, I imagine I'm covered completely by a layer or a cloak that is mirrored, as in, any energy sent to me that is not welcome, is immediately bounced off my 'mirror' right back at them You can also try wearing shiny/reflective buttons, jewellery etc, that will do the same thing.

Also good to try are cacti - their spikiness really dials down the negativity and seems to send it where it belongs ?

I have three personal planets in the 12 house, Moon included. I always wear crystals for protection as I'm very sensitive to other people's energies and surrounding energies. I wear them daily.

What worked best for me as protection are especially black tourmaline and hematite, obsidian too (lately). When I'm around a more toxic field/ toxic people I add tiger's eye or carnelian, which give me strong grounding energy. I mix stones, usually wearing more of them on both sides of the body and if possible close to their corresponding chakra.

My number one protector stone in a very toxic environment has been black tourmaline, I used to have one near my computer at work/ in the drawer + jewelry.

As a small practice of releasing toxicity from which I had a lot at my last working place, I used to take a long walk after work when returning home, the air in my ears and the walking helped me clean some of that energy and by the time I got home I was feeling a bit better.

@calliope I've done the same when I worked in a office that was quite toxic, used to do long walks on my way home and would feel more myself on getting home.
