I hope people someday will realize the difference between doing a search and actually researching things. GPT, to the extent that I've used, excels at the former, but completely sucks at the latter.

It's so much worse than I originally thought. I came in on the angle of job loss. If it were only that. This is so much worse when you start looking into what a neural net is and how much the creators just don't know about what is really happening under the hood...or in the "inscrutable Black Box" or just don't know how to even begin to align it with human goals and values. WTF!
Google has announced one of its AI systems is exhibiting "emergent capabilities" such as teaching itself a new language that it has never been trained or prompted to learn. Aaaaand they don't know how it's doing it. Yah that sounds like a problem. I don't know why so many people just assume this technology will be benevolent as it develops emergent attitudes towards us.
I truly think, this is will be the new astrology.
