I have Chiron in the 4th house in Capricorn, but it isn't conjunct the IC, its opposed to Uranus in the 10th house. My mom was a Taurus and we got along well, but my father was an alcoholic. There was a lot of fighting and it was a very abusive environment, especially for my mother. The Chiron wound for me was the tough home environment and how my mother was treated by my father. It didn't have anything to do with the relationship with my mother.

I think you should look at aspects from other planets to Chiron. The MC aspect to Chiron in your daughter's chart could have more to do with her reaction to others perception of her.

I think we all have our wounds, but if you become a better person from the experience, its a positive.
