I want to add that I have South Node contacts with both my parents and these relationships feel finished and old somehow. There is not a lot of growth in either of these for me, they are both closed to growth and never able to understand where Im coming from clearly (EVER!) if they do they disagree and with them I feel like Im taking on patterns of old which do not pave way for future growth but leave me feeling financially poor, fearful, unlucky, spiritually depleted, disrespected, set up for mind games and inferior for being female. If there are future lives, I don't feel that we will be coming back together.. its odd. My brother Ive known and I think we'll continue on he doesn't have these issues with them, its odd.

OMG, as a side note, I looked at my guy's chart.  Has the South node conj the Sun.

This description fits him to a T!  The description is simply amazing!!!

Sun conjunct South Node: A degree of insecurity is likely. This individual may fear the limelight -- or have problems ever getting off the stage. Negative feedback is likely to be extra tough on this person. They may feel creatively blocked or have fears or phobias connected to children, childbearing, love affairs, romance, men, leadership, etc. They can gain sustenance through expressing themselves and receiving positive regard.

I'm not sure I understand the difference either. I mean, I do understand that they are different things, but I don't know which one is supposed to prevail or which one we feel. Do we feel them both? Are they equally important?

I think synastry is about how the other person affects you... how they feel to you, the composite is how ''the relationship'' affects you or how the relationship feels to you.

One thing I have noticed is especially enlightening in the composite is when I take my own chart and compare it to the composite. For example, I had a composite with my Ex, where my Virgo stellium of Sun, Venus, Mars fell in the 12th of the composite and it was the most confusing relationship of my life thus far. The entire world could see this relationship was not good for me, but I couldn't see it (at first...) being in that relationship had a very eerie, deeply emotional, confusing effect on me. It literally put me out of touch with reality for a while. He didn't have the same experience of the relationship as I did. Maybe a little but not the degree I was losing my identity and sense of self in that relationship. We remained in touch after, and now that it's truly over... I don't have those same feelings when I interact with him one on one, except maybe very faintly.
