Interesting. My Eris is conjunct Chiron in Aries in the eighth. Sextiles my Venus in Aquarius. Trines Neptune in Sagittarius. Also sextiles Saturn in Gemini. I have Pluto and Uranus in Libra opposite Aries but no aspects to Eris. I definitely have eighth house wounds/issues.
I have Eris conjunct my Midheaven from the 10th House side, and now she's exactly opposing my 4th House Libra Sun. I get it... The struggle with finding my place in a world that feels profoundly unwelcoming and unsettling to me and yet having the desire to shine, to do something meaningful in this world, to gain recognition for my talents, on my own terms. DISCORD.
ETA: I don't know why I mixed everything up. She IS permanently opposing my Sun while conjunct my Midheaven (I have a Nadir Sun) so I'll have to live with the discord for all my Life. Now she's at 23° Aries so she finished opposing my Mercury and is currently making no major aspects to anything else in my Chart, but I'll have her in my 10th house for a long time so the natal theme is still in full effect...

So, all of us with prominent Eris... we've just got to get comfortable with discord because it's not going anywhere? I guess we all have Eris, everyone. We all have discord. My Eris is in the 9th... I moved very far away and my presence is discord because just my presence brings a different energy. Also, I live in a very Catholic country yet I am married to a Buddhist Monk who is creating a community where we live. ....but to me discord is not permanent nor is it a negative thing, it eventually synthesizes we learn to live with discord. Catholics and Buddhists can sit down together and enjoy NOW, enjoy all that is God together. They could even meditate together and they do! Brazilians and Americans can grow to appreciate each other. The relationships I've been forming over these past 5 years in Brazil have only been deepening with time and it is so RICH. My husband and I... me with my Scorpio Moon and he with his Aries Moon, hello, discord! However, we have been able to make it work by challenging each other and learning how to direct energy.

Maybe a positive expression of Eris is the synthesizer.
I think the article I posted mentions that someone theorized that Eris could be the ruler of Libra. Far out but interesting!

Interesting observation Shan. I think that, in the globalized world, controversy and discord are taking other forms. For instance: who is the "other", now? What collective identities are being shaped, with all this technology and erosion of boundaries? What imaginary otherness/enemy are we fabricating? (General "we" = mass consciousness/public opinion). You're experiencing a very large-scale and relevant issue with your 9th House Eris.
