Surprised to see people saying 9th as that is where my Saturn is and I find it hard (it is opposite my 3rd house Moon, though).
Given a choice, I really don't know where I'd have it. Maybe trining my Moon, but that would place it in either the 7th or 11th.
I guess maybe my 1st, as my ruling planet, I think it would change others' perception of me, taking me more seriously.
When Saturn was transiting my 10th house it was the best period career-wise, I got a better job and my work was acknowledged and rewarded by superiors so I would choose that house over others. But it was also in Libra which might be a bigger factor. I would not mind 3rd or 11th House Saturn as long as it is in Venusian or Mercury ruled sign. I would rather pass on Saturn in Sun, Moon and Mars ruled signs, no matter the House.
Mine is in the 10th with whole signs, 9th in equal houses. I'm happy with it there, to be honest.
I've been interpreting my chart with whole signs for awhile and it's clear to me that people do take me seriously. When Uranus opposed my natal Saturn a few years ago, I had a public "canceling" and while it wasn't fun at the time, it also told me that people saw me as an authority figure which I am just fine with. I'd rather be respected than ignored.
I have it in the 9th. Issues with teachers and bosses!! And God!! Interrupted higher education, issues with foreign travel. Those of you who would like Saturn in the 9th, I’d be interested in what you would expect the good parts to be. 🤔
Mine's in 10th in Cancer. I think it pays off once you're about 80 years old. Most of your life the external world presents relentless obstacles and makes you feel high anxiety. It's hard to own property or succeed at things that Capricorns love to do, like status, career, public recognition, hierarchical ascendency. None of that works, it's like you are barred from creating an identity based on the external in terms of manifest things. In my experience I've had to cultivate "being" rather than "doing" and from that basis opportunities arise, but it's the opposite of how society works, what is valued, so it's been a lonely and confusing path. Where a planet is placed is very much about the opposing house too, so that's worth bearing in mind.
I wouldn't swap it for another house because I would undo all the psychic work I've put in having it in the 10th, and that's worth a lot where Saturn is concerned.
Natally I have it in the 12th in Scorpio, but if I had to choose another house, it would be the 11th. I felt the best with having transit Saturn through my 11th, and it was the best time in my life in every aspect. It was also good when it was transiting my 1st house. Having Saturn in the 12th house natally, it's like someone is holding you for the top of your collar and pulling you back, and you want to run, but can't, like in cartoons.
