"BREAKING: Samsung profit falls by 96%, to smallest since Global Financial Crisis."

This is hard to fathom... and a reversal of fortune.

A CBDC will be operated through the Federal Reserve. There is currently a law that prohibits individuals having an account w/the FED. Any movement to change this law should be strenuously resisted...just an FYI. ***I got this from the Federal Reserve FAQ section. I tried to just post the link but got "forbidden" msg.

What do you think this means, @jana ? The end of retail banking?

No. I just think there are competing interests and when it comes to replacing the world reserve currency (US dollar) with a CBDC. . Sure if we continue to see bank failures and it escalates into something catastrophic, they may try to "make the most of good crisis" and push through a CBDC while everyone is panic stricken but  it won't be easy to circumvent the banking industry. They won't go quietly into the night and be replaced by the FED. They have a lot of political power. Hopefully people will also see that they will be sacrificing their freedom and privacy if they go along with it as well.

This is such a milestone moment. I'm going to read the white paper and attend talks if they're doing any

So I listened to panel discussions involving the heads of central banks in Sweden, Spain, Nigeria, France and Thailand. I get the impression that the US is a slow mover on this thing. Personally, I like the idea of CBDCs and it is slightly annoying to me whenever lack of trust prevents the fast uptake of innovation

The innovation will allow all of your financial transactions to be monitored by the FED. This is one way China has been able to institute a Social Credit score on its people and "encourage" them to participate in state sanctioned ways.

@jana : Yes, I heard your warning the first time. Related to that, the French man said his country got rid of central bank personal accounts x yrs ago. He said his preference would be to never go back to that. He thinks commercial banks should continue to play the role they play. Maybe that's one solution to your freedom issue.

I don't use printed notes much anymore. I haven't used coins in years.

With the choice of where to store our money or to take physical position, we retain our privacy. I think the Canadian governments invasion of protesting trucker accounts is a great example of how giving governments  access and power over your assets will be abused.

I'm a fan of individual choice and if a CBDC is what they want, I doubt choice will factor in. I guess we'll see. Smile /p>

@jana : choice is important, I agree. Choice allows us to live as we would like. Now, regarding privacy: if choice of where to store leads to more privacy (i.e., being able to stay hidden) then let's have more choice. However... a talented hunter can track the most private animal based one footprint and half an ounce of scat. It seems to me privacy has to do less with choice of hiding places than with whether or not the hunter will agree to track you or not! Having said that, I hope whatever unfolds in the digital era will be done in good faith and that tracking people is not the main focus. Or if it is, then I would hope they are not talented at it. 🙂

Florida governor is looking to ban the use of a CBDC in Florida and Texas is looking to do the same.

yes but if it's executed on a national level I don't know how the states can exclude themselves.

Root of so many problems right there, states rights being oppressed by too much national overreach.

There is a new narrative coming out, people who are anti cbdc or ai?

You're irrational, foolish, you've made an error in judgment, which you will regret..."

They're very good at this. Demoralizing, that is. It's highly effective. Psychopaths!

That's the same manipulation they tried to use for the jabs, minus the "you're killing grandma" guilt trip.  What will it ever take for enough people, worldwide, to stand up and simply refuse?  Could doing so derail their whole agenda in time? There's another pandemic waiting in the wings...

First Republic Bank is down 44% today. It's number 60 on this list.
