@jana Sam told everyone what was happening, because if you know this and you decide to invest,  you are consenting.

Your consent matters, greatly. I can't think of the right word right now but it's akin to a lynch pin. It's critically important.

The entire stock market is set up exactly like FTX. It seems this is going to become common knowledge, imminently.

@allie120 yes, this is the element that can't be spoken of. It's an insta-ban on various platforms.

@elsa I know many things we can’t talk about (on other places) but I didn’t know that was a thing. I guess I haven’t listened much in that arena.

I got out awhile back. Crypto too. Farmland, metals, cash, gov. backed bonds ( that depends on your confidence in the gov. actually surviving however), even inventories of essential products for barter (I know that sounds scary)  etc. are better choices in this environment.

@jana yesterday, someone (I have known for 25 years), told me that metals are as controlled and manipulated as anything else. Note this person and her husband have a good amount of money - zero investment in the stock market, ever in their lives... wealth is in real estate and metals for decades... their entire adult/married life.

I had not heard this before but as soon as I did, it seems obvious she's right. It's her opinion, gold should be 10K an oz and silver at least a couple hundred?

It's worth thinking about anyway.  After all these decades, she realizes she's been played.

@elsa I’d heard that here and there, too.

Yes, your friend is correct. I don't think of metals as a way to make money. More of a hard asset that would be recognized if the paper currency went down. So if the spot prices go up or down, I pretty much ignore it. I settled on a position that I think will help me in the "event" and just park it.
