This is a serious question. Is insanity contagious?  Like people feel depression is contagious.

What do you think?

Moral insanity referred to a type of mental disorder consisting of abnormal emotions and behaviors

Can someone else’s emotions affect you? Yes!

Mirror neuron system.

@soup I wasn't very clear. I don't think depression is contagious.

But I am also not exactly sure what you're saying here. I do think fear is contagious, but faith is the antidote, so anyone can gain immunity.

I think that insanity carries energy that can rub off on others. Whether someone else can defend themselves from falling under that cloud depends both on their boundaries and their ability to handle stressful situations.

I agree. We can pick up energy without the person being near us. In their communication through writing, for example. If you are aware, you can ignore it, avoid it or play with it and send it back. But not fall for it. Boundaries!

Absolutely, I believe insanity can be contagious. The internet makes it so easy to transmit anything, in seconds, to millions.

This also brings to mind 'contagions' from long ago - Dancing Mania In Europe from about the 14th century, and also Witch-hunts not long afterwards. We don't need technology to be exposed to these things.
