Have you heard of, metabolic psychiatry?

"The Metabolic Psychiatry Clinic is the world’s first academic specialty clinic which provides evaluation and treatment for patients struggling with psychiatric illness and metabolic abnormalities. Metabolic abnormalities include insulin resistance, pre-diabetes, or unhealthy excess body weight..."

What's your take on this?

Nope.  Never have heard of that before.  First thought it that it’s an advertising gimick.

Perhaps latched onto by those pushing keto diet, but the connection between metabolism and many mental functions is not new.  Thyroid, hormone, and blood sugar levels all can impact issues like depression, anxiety, aggression, hyperactivity, etc.

I think this clinic is long overdue. Metabolic disorders such as P.C.O.S., insulin resistance etc, decrease our feel- good neurotransmitters such as seratonin.

I wish they had these clinics when I was first diagnosed with P.C.O.S.. I am really happy that the negative biological effects from illness which negate mental health are being acknowledged.

This clinic is a step in the right direction and so many will now receive the treatment they deserve 🙂.

I ve been thinking for a while that one of the areas deeply affected by pluto in Capricorn must have been traditional medicine... Lots of old approaches seem to not be working anymore, new studies and new connections keep coming up and at this point maybe even Saturn in pisces is pointing towards how subtler conditions, like the effects of hormones are influencing general health. There's a big gap to be covered here and things are still not clear, many approaches that were deemed 'spiritual practices ', like meditation, mindfulness etc are gaining traction within medicine... I think it's all worth looking into but there's no guarantee in finding final answers... You gotta go with your gut pretty much and stay as grounded as possible. Plus psychiatry is still a rather new discipline compared to others.

Never heard of that clinic btw, better try looking for specific names of doctors and check out properly scientific studies they have to have published before buying into anything
