I asked, Scott, to send me some classical music. Hard to fathom, how I could be friends with him and with Ben, my whole life and never expose myself before, in any way that's significant.

I am going this, because I'm so sick of the bs all over the internet.  I'm sick of being slimed, basically, so I wanted to go back to when I could hear music and not have the pictures supplied to me.

It's very nice.  Just perfect.

Open thread for music here.  Whatcha got?

I live on a lake close to the marina and restaurant.  There’s a live band tonight playing 70’s and 80’s tunes. They are good and the audience and I are enjoying it

My husband started DJ’ing when he was 12 years old and an older brother of his friend would bring him to play at clubs when he was 16. A time when you had to bring your own music in crates of records and no one could request music because the dj booth was somewhere in the rafters. We have a set of turntables in the parlor and he still collects records to this day.
when I’m home I like to listen to the John Coltrane 58’ album. There’s about 12 records to this album. I can listen to it on Spotify, but it doesn’t sound the same. I think my cat also enjoys jazz- he will lay in the middle of the floor and listen with me!

I'm just going to tuck this in here for everyone's amusement. There's an entire collection!

I wasn’t sure what to put here but a recent conversation made me think about it. I can’t be special but I posted a song elsewhere which led to a brief conversation where both of us knew what the other meant about how the song made us feel but we couldn’t (or at least I couldn’t) articulate it. However, he noticed a similar type of reaction to music in his son.

My brother is similar to me. He loves to share it with my sister-in-law and especially his sons.

I thought everyone felt the same way about music or whatever music they loved. I don’t know. My mother grew up in a musical family and I only learned later her true appreciation and openness for any music! I wish I’d known that sooner but she always seemed too busy for that. (No judgement now; I just didn’t understand).

My reaction to certain music is extremely emotional. I have since learned to temper that because it can be 🔥

@bar-in-the-sky sounds like Motown.
