We got gifted pastrami, rye bread, pastrami nova, bagels, cream cheeses and pickles from, Kossar's.

@elsa OMG I DO MISS NY deli. Probably once a month I treat myself to a reuben or bagels and lox. It's not the same, but special. My EX is a New Yorker. SIGH.
We all pulled off a pretty good birthday party for my mother-in-law. It made me happy!
One of my husband's uncles lives in the town in Georgia where the shooting just took place. We didn't talk about it though. Time and place or maybe people have just given up on discussing things like this.
@elsa Nobody we’ve been with has talked about this or the other thing that happened over the summer, especially that the latter event had some parallels to what happened to my husband, so I guess it’s a nice break.
This morning we went to the farmers market and picked up a couple filets, brats, and bone marrow medallions. We found a closer source for maple syrup. We don’t need any more now but it’s good to know. And some beets and an eggplant (for me, my husband won’t eat them). And a couple of scones from the local bread shop. They are retiring and looking to sell the business. I get my rye flour from them.
It was a lovely morning.
