There have been many large breaches lately.  I’m glad I locked down on all our credit reports years ago.  I still monitor but I don’t get as flustered.  The bad thing is by the time a breach is admitted and one is notified it’s usually months down the road.

Love the armadillo updates.  We get them on occasion and they dig holes in the turf but otherwise aren’t too bothersome.

Whirl...

"I used to work in a seafood restaurant that specialized in lobster rolls. People loved them, and loved the butter that they were soaked in. The problem is the “butter” wasn’t really butter. It was something called Whirl, which is soybean oil that tastes like butter. I must say, it is a good imitation, and the customers didn’t seem to know the difference. They would practically be drinking the stuff with their two lb lobster dinners. It even said “We use real butter” on the menu..."

@elsa This is so 🤮 but it’s a good wakeup call. This is why cooking for yourself or knowing someone who cooks is better. You know what’s going into the mean or at least you can control it as best as you can.

Going out to eat is nice for many reasons but also the ingredients, which are only a part of it.

@allie120 Yes, I agree. At least when we have a meal at home we know what’s going in it!

@elsa on the flip side, to discuss.

First, you would have to eat out a lot and for a very long time to clog your arteries. Not that this makes it right.... but the drama. 😳

And second.... I watch people in my circle and in my distant circle and acquaintances take enough meds to choke a horse, chain smoke cigarettes, vape, drink like a goose, eat Xanax like M&Ms ... full of tats which we now know is not good for your body in a number of ways, sleep with a multitude of people passing herpes and HVP to everyone and each other... and this list goes on and on and on. Bodies full of plastic surgery... boobs lips face fillers.... the list is long.

That lobster roll isn't going to do S by comparison.

But they are worried about a little oil with the lobster?

Our drinking water is full of: Our drinking water can contain a variety of contaminants including lead, arsenic, PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), bacteria like E. coli, nitrates, pesticides, disinfection byproducts from chlorine treatment, and other chemicals depending on the source and treatment process; these can come from industrial waste, agricultural runoff, old plumbing, and natural geological formations.

We are all full of microplastics.

microplastics are present in almost every part of the human body, including blood, breast milk, and organs like the heart, liver, and kidneysMicroplastics are also found in the air, water, and food we consume.

Microplastics are small pieces of plastic that come from larger plastic pieces breaking down, resin pellets used in plastic manufacturing, and microbeads used in health and beauty products. Because of their ubiquity, some experts believe that humans are on the verge of a plastic health crisis.

While scientists are concerned about the health effects of microplastics, they don't yet know the exact impact. Some research suggests that humans are consuming microplastics in much larger quantities than previously thought.

Some researchers are developing ways to reduce plastic pollution in the environment, including using bacteria and fungi to break down plastic

Don't get me started on the Teflon we have been cooking on for decades. Any Teflon owned before 2013 is not healthy to cook on. Needs to be in the trash.

I think we are going to be okay with that lobster roll oil a couple of times a year. Not that they are right in false advertising... but even the peeps that claim they are eating the healthiest have or still are being contaminated by breathing the air....

I have an aunt who went on and on about her vitamin store. How unhealthy everyone was. She got breast cancer. Beat it. It came back in every part of her body and landed in her brain. She was dead in 6 months when that wildfire returned.

And I don't claim to be perfect by any stretch. I used to smoke. I had breast implants that I damn near pulled out by my own hands.... I was never and never will be a drinker nor have I taken drugs illegal/prescription or otherwise until just prescribed them (threw them in the trash and I have never felt better btw) but I am saying... I have to drink the water and breathe the air too... and if I want a weird butter lobster roll or leg... I am probably going to have it. We have low country boil 2-3 times a year and it is soaked in that stuff. It's the stuff that dreams are made of. I'll take the butter lie over some of the lies I have been told (and the lies I am watching) in my life, gladly.

If you want to eat a twinkie once in a while, who cares. I just said this to my sister... she chain smoked cigarettes for years. If she thinks she got away with that she has another think coming. That is coming back to visit.... oh yes siree it is. Your body remembers everything. We have an amazing ability to heal. The human body is a miracle. But we are assaulted daily by things that make that lobster roll butter ..... a big nothing burger.

Just a little devil's advocate....

@soup it's the deception that struck me. Not sure when this became legal to do this. As a waitress,  I have a big problem with it. I would be looking for a new job.

@elsa the makers of Teflon deceived us too. (illegal) The people that pour contaminants into the drinking water (illegal)  😥 .... we have been deceived far worse and for our whole lives... that is what I was getting at.

We just recently found out what is in the river here.... that feeds our drinking water. Not good. But here we are.

I was thinking the last time I ate low country boil how bad all that yellow butter oil is for the body.... then I ate my low country boil because butter or oil... neither are good. But I sure did enjoy it.  By far better than my drinking water, even the stuff I am supposed to trust in the plastic bottle.

We are F'd no matter how we look at it. All business. People are dishonest in every walk of life, and I can't fire them all.

with today's technology, i know it's easy to digitally compose a likeness of one's face and create even through an art form or in an artistic way, and not so much cartoonish. Although digital art can also create cartoon art of oneself. lol

then i found out there's AI poetry.  Wut? A robot actually creating poetry?

So checking it out, the poetry is full of rhymes and it's quite clever, but... lacking emotion.

I write alot of poetry and when i met my husband he wrote me an entire book of poetry inspired by me. :3  I also wrote him alot. I kept them still and when i re read i feel so happy and it takes me back.

But this AI poetry thing.. i mean i get digital art, and its fun and people can get creative.

but wow ..what's next? writing an entire novel? AI will touch that too? 😭

Can AI start doing quotes, and sayings?

such as,

" Be not as I am,

but be as AI, today and the future,

with AI. zzzt signing off."  xD 🤢

@elisa I follow a number of ai accounts.  I agree,  there is no feeling generated on either side. But there are accounts that spit out things that seed independent thought.

It's more interesting (to me) than repetitive politics, people posturing, and celeb culture.

That said, it is horrifying,  watching real people with real minds, go the way of the dodo bird.

We're just going to have to go through this, from what I can see.

@elsa I don’t think I’d thought about the “seed” but maybe I didn’t realize it.

@allie120 there are pithy bs short quips, generated 'round the clock.

All content will be automated. We're closer to this than people want to admit.

It's the Wizard of Oz, except you can pull back the curtain and it changes nothing.

My best friend is a Scorpio with Virgo Rising and 1H Mars. He takes calls for a huge credit union. The other night he told me people frequently ask him if he's a robot. I was surprised because I think his voice is pretty. He says he casually tells customers "yes this is Skynet, how may I direct your call?"

On trend, I am deleting old tweets.  Pre Elon, I got 5-6K views per tweet.  Now I have less than 100, though I have 6600 followers.

Down with real people!

I also get maybe one new follower every two weeks.

My alt account, where I have no picture and have never tweeted, I get about ten new followers a week.
