I read that when Chinese people come to the US, they are surprised how we all mind the news. Apparently, they never do, because they know it's propaganda. Food for thought.

@elisa I remember seeing a doc on N. Korea, early Netflix. They have speakers in their homes, that broadcast propaganda, all day, like 8 am - 6 pm. You cannot turn it off or turn it down. I was HORRIFIED when I saw this.
I was even more horrified, when I realized "online" is the same.. worse! People wake up in the middle of the night and turn it on. I know, because I've done it myself.

So here we go:
Our son and his boyfriend will not attend our holidays this year because, although we do not discuss politics at holidays, they know who we (probably) voted for, even though we never, ever talked about voting.
It’s particularly funny because they have even less of an idea of who I also support and the difficult decision I made in my choice. I was very private even with my husband. No, this isn’t red or blue.
I am not talking politics here just about people willing to cut us out for assumptions. My husband will be devastated I know. This happened four years ago but it was directed at me.
This shit comes one day short of a year my husband was shot and we all rallied around him. And not that it matters, apparently, but I’m going through stuff with my mom.
So I know the message is we cannot control how others feel or their own fears. Our own actions should have hopefully assuaged their fears over all these years but this action seems more of a big statement.
There are definitely puppets pulling the strings.
I won’t respond and let my husband take the lead. I’m disappointed but still love them.
Oh, and this was in response to my husband’s group text asking people to submit their Christmas wish lists to him by Thanksgiving (my husband does that every year and he’s as happy as Santa and everyone knows)

My husband said if his son did this, he would day, "Thank you for that gift, of never speaking to me again. I never thought I'd get to enjoy the sound of silence..."

It’s like a switch flipped. Back in September we were at a fair sending him pictures of some beautiful Native American rings and my husband bought him one. We hadn’t given it to him because our schedules weren’t lining up and he had said he wanted to be able to spend time with us when he got the ring.
I don’t know. Maybe he’ll get over it one day. It’s hard to cut people out of your life, knowing them as I do. It takes an effort.

I am so sorry, this is happening to you and happening in general. It's all brainwashing. I'm sorry but it is. And my husband taught me long ago, not to judge people for this, as it's not their fault. Goes all the way back to the gal from Somalia in my gym. She hated Rangers... Rangers who risked (and in some cases, lost) their lives to bring her food.

@elsa Thank you, again. It is what you said, because I’m seeing this sort of thing being broadcast. It’s so out there…but it makes sense in that things like this were unimaginable earlier but now it’s ramped up.
I forgave him the last time and loved him the same and will do the same now. It really hurt this time but I have to see it as him being hurt and used this way. It’s emotional manipulation and it’s so evil (the act, not my son and his boyfriend). We really want them to be happy; you always want your kids to have a partner and have a good life.

during this pluto capricorn, wow, alot of expenses, many minuses, me and my husband paid for college fees for our son, and my husband hates loans so he put in most of the down payment for basically all the tuition plus our son's car broke down and he has one of those expensive cars that his previous grandfather gave him as his only inheritance. That cost in the thousands. It was shocking. In the end, while we're waiting for Pluto capricorn to exit, we're down to severe budgeting. I am making those macaroni and cheeses i used to make when i was poor. Well, i was always making them. (you can't take out the poor out of me. lol kind of like that saying, you can take the girl out of the farm where she lived but you can't take the farm out of the girl) I remember when i was younger, in my teens, i hung out with this girl who lived with her mother, (single mother household) and they were living in a poor area, she would make us white bread with mayonaise and we peppered the mayo. It was so yummy. lol I think back then i was 45 kilos wet. xD so skinny it looked like i was going through famine.
Anyway, just visiting my mom each say this weekend. She’s good in that she’s just talks and talks and talks. She’s not good about asking for assistance. I’m just going to order the rest of her meals for her because she forgets she can do it herself.
She is really going to rehab on Monday. For certain. It is closer to my brother. I will stay until she is transferred. Then my brother will be down there to meet her and of course do all the paperwork.
