My mom is telling me that the little boy in the condo below can see her when she uses the toilet. She’s also telling me that the woman upstairs takes pictures of her in the shower and even ripped up the floor to spy on her. (Mom hasn’t used the shower in years because of this.) I told her I used the shower yesterday and today and she said oh you did, and then just continued to talk about the spying lady.

😵‍💫 I just go along with it. The woman can talk for hours.

@allie120 ah, shoot. I'm sorry.

My mother-in-law stuffs little blankets, behind her back. Thinks they are in the trunk of her car.

@elsa It’s wild some of the stuff she says. Sometimes I can see where it’s coming from, she will repeat questions, fixate on something, go back into the past and talk about something in great detail. She has started to veer into some over sharing so I needed to redirect that. And talking about death, stories about my father dying (they injected him with something and he died after a three week program: that was her story).

She’s always been very frank about death with us, even when we were small. So in some ways I can appreciate the bluntness but maybe you don’t always want to hear about it.

Anyway, I brought her the Sunday paper and she’s enjoying the puzzles.

This is a relief that she’s getting help but also my siblings and I feel like the parents.

This is so heartbreaking.  Your ability to handle it well is admirable.  Puzzles of any sort that occupy and exercise the mind are amazingly effective, just as they are for most of us in relieving stress.

My friend who was in a memory care facility spent most of her time singing, which delighted her caregivers.  This was spontaneous, but they do try to tap into the patient's lifelong interests and pastimes.

I wonder if there are any studies linking life events or personality types to how the symptoms develop?  Or more specifically, how people handle anxiety earlier in life.

@warped It seems she likes her routine. I bought her puzzle books before and she loved them. And she always likes the paper puzzles. I bought her books for the hospital but she hasn’t opened them. She likes her  news channel and tv shows. It’s got to be so frustrating being in a room all day waiting.

She is especially interested in the obituaries because years ago she was on her high school reunion luncheon committee and tasked with updating the list. But I don’t think they’ve done anything since before Covid. And it was 1952 graduating class. But she always talks about the list and calling people and everything. So whether it’s still happening or not, I don’t know but it’s something for her to think about.

Perhaps you can look up her graduating class on FB or one of those class mates ot yearbook sites and even print out info if she's not adept online.  There might've been a reunion in '22.

There's an ongoing discussion of this in a local group I'm in.  Someone just recommended the YouTube videos and workshop by Teepa Snow, who breaks down the stages and varieties of dementia.  Also mentions of acute symptoms caused by chronic UTIs and pharmaceutical interactions.

It's a good idea to research All Rx meds for potential interactions.  Sometimes a patient's long term pharmacist will catch what the doctor missed and actually prevent a fatality.  We need to do this for our pets also, including interactions of meds like Cyclosporine with monthly preventatives like Heartgard, even certain foods and supplements.

Scott told me has downloaded 4500 albums from youtube. He also owns 3500-5000 cds. This is all piano music. I asked him to send a picture.

@elsa That’s incredible! I love it because I’m sure he can talk in depth about each recording, artist, production.

I am hearing of others cut off from family members after the election. Three stories and counting.  It scares me a little.

@elsa o.

That's 😎.

Neptune s last days in Pisces will be a doozy.

Expect the weird ,the warped and the beautiful. Like Music and art, any form , any color.  Neptune has anything you want. Interesting ai made a splash Neptune in Pisces. How apt.

I have not looked at winter equinox s  nor spring till Neptune sinks in Aries.  I remember a blizzard when Neptune and Uranus in cap . Years ago.

It be my third house. Personally , I glad leaving 2nd house.  Then I receive warped glasses in communication. Maybe I can do something productive.  🥺😁

My husband reminded me of my most insane dream, ever. It woke me up and I was bitching about it. Two logos fused together and rushed me. Now I mean this literally.  Dark screen, two logos became one, very fast, and moved quickly towards me, startling me. I was pissed and complaing about being terrorized by this thing. My husband was baffled. I went back to sleep.

Tonight he reminded he... he said he was going to sleep himself, trying to imagine what it would be like to be afraid of a logo. That reminded me of this ordeal. craaaazy.

Sounds like a wild dream.   I think I enjoy a dream like that .

Reply to other threads , dementia.

You know many use to not talk about it.  I did know one person with Alzheimer's. She was actually funny at times.

I did read if effects physical too, not just mental. Your gait can become odd. Movements may become sort of off.

Anyways, found tai chi exercises for your mind using your hands . How ♊
