My husband found his mother in what looked to be, withdrawal. He raised hell...this was about a week ago. It turned out, an attendant was in fact, stealing her drugs.

She's been in assisted living for fifteen years or so. First time this has happen, but another reminder of things we don't hear about anymore (that are serious).

@elsa Gosh, this is sad. I’ve heard recently that at a local hospital a nurse was doing the same thing. It’s true that these things are not made public enough.

Crap!  Glad he caught it and raised hell.

This happened last year in the neighboring town. It was on the papers and local TV.  This thief was replacing liquid narcotics in the vials with saline.  She lost her license.

A few decades ago, my nurse cousin left a job after only a few weeks. She saw discrepancies in the narcotics and didn’t want to be the one accused.

It seems I should be able to use AI to pull up a post on this blog by key phrases or some short synopsis, but no.

Children should never know about adult problems. This is heartbreaking. And is something I want to get involved in. I have the means to help children like this. And I plan to.

@soup

Be very wary of these heart-targeted documentaries, particularly of international origin -- what is the agenda?

1 in 12 Americans are Not Unemployed.

Perhaps they asked AI, which appeared unbidden at the top of my results with a figure of TWO BILLION working age (16-65) Americans without jobs, down from TWENTY Billion last year, per the Federal Reserve!!

The actual figure is 4.3% of the 210 Million working age Americans are without jobs.

I couldn't watch further, but regardless, you're sure to be amazing with needy children!

Master level trolling. I'm beginning to really enjoy this along with the resulting memes.

Found out that our friend's wife of over 25 years lied to him about having lung cancer. It was the stress of worrying about her that contributed to him having 5 heart attacks. I just cannot imagine lying about something so serious. And with such awful consequences. He's a Scorpio, so I can't see her getting away with it unscathed, tbh.

@plutolover 😭 Given that information about any of the family I love so deeply would give me one too. What a horrible and hateful lie. I am failing to understand people more and more every day. What could she have been thinking? That is a vicious lie.

@soup it is vicious. He has been devoted to her since the day they met,  would do anything for her and the kids, and now he's got to forge a new life for himself, alone, whilst minding his health. His poor kids don't know what to do.
