"IF YOUR HEART IS SOFT ENOUGH, HURT WON'T EVEN HURT. IT WILL SIMPLY PASS RIGHT ON THROUGH..."

R. Heimberg

I think this guy is right.  I'm going for this. I think I can do it.

I was just thinking of softheartedness today.

My husband just ordered another 1800 pounds of hay to set out here and there in our fields.

The elk are migrating. Many pregnant females (they birth in June).  This time of year is hard. It’s still winter in the Rocky Mountains.

This is our third order this spring. It’s not cheap. 1800 pounds of hay disappears within a week. We literally have hundreds of elk passing through.

We can’t feed all the wild critters but for tonight, some will have full bellies.

Many years ago, when we were young and broke we had a cat that needed surgery. It was going to be hundreds of dollars, money we didn’t have. I went to him, concerned about the decision. He simply said, “We’ve spent more on less.”

I’ve always remembered that. Softheartedness.

@tess How wonderful. Hay isn’t cheap. It’s heavy and hard to handle.
