I'm Swedish, and I think it could very well be different here than in the States...I work from home 3 days a week, and in the office 2 days. It gives me a perfect balance; I like it at home with my music, my freedom etc, but too long at home and I get bored, hence going to the office where we have a fantastic atmosphere - you will always hear laughter from somewhere in the office space. I really enjoy my colleagues and we have a lot of great discussions, tease each other etc but after one day there I'm a bit tired and had enough of people so perfect to sit at home. I think in general people here are happy for the pandemic in the sense that they can now work at home sometimes but still enjoy the social play at work. I don't feel it's everyone for themselves, on the contrary. It was the same when I was working and living in Denmark.
