Turns out, my husband calls people, "Buster Brown", at work. Finally one of them asked him who the fuck is, Buster Brown? "Do you mean, Bobby Brown?"

My husband couldn't believe they did not know who that was. He went on to say it's common to call someone this? Well, I know who Buster Brown is by I have never heard any get called this.

My husband insists it's common. It emerges, Koreans call Americans, Buster Brown. This is when he was in Korea. 

I tell him it's an old man thing to say and he should not expect 30 year Olds who have never been to Korea, forty years ago, to get the reference. 

Then I search this and urban dictionary says it originated in the 90's. Older than that, I'd say.
