Is There Such A Thing As A “Get Out Of Jail Free Card”?

get out of jail free cardkashmiri writes regarding Saturn

“Basically a person needs to accept there is no “get out of jail free card’ and things improve. Exponentially.”

kashmiri, I understand what you are saying and know you would elaborate but I have to jump on and argue this. I have been handed many, many “get out of jail” free cards in life. I have stood on the ground and looked up at the sky time and time again and asked God exactly this:

“You’ve got to be kidding me? You mean I am going to get away with this?”

And apparently God approves because I do get away with the thing.

I have had it all, from judges who rule for me even though I am 100% wrong and say so in open court to enjoying spontaneous unexplainable healing after devastating injury. These things happen to me, I swear they do and as far as I am concerned it may very well be Saturn giving me the pass. What is a judge if not Saturn? It is as if the authority looks down on me and says you know what, Elsa? You don’t suck after all and this one is on me.

For the record, I also hand these cards out out all the time. Take my son. He is such a good kid. You think if he makes one mistake I am going to come down on him? I’m not. I am going to get him out of his trouble in the the most painless (for him) way possible and then shrug.

I think you can get beaten all your life and then run into someone who is just not going to be party to it under any circumstances and I think the people who spare you are the Capricorns I mentioned here -> Capricorn, Saturn and Compassion

Nice segue, huh?

Do you get “get out of jail free cards” in life? If so, what do you attribute thems too?

  1. Yay! I have Libra! It’s back!!
I actually voted for “I don’t get them but I know people that do.” 😛

Dude, I’ve got Sun-Saturn. Sometimes I get persecuted for things I haven’t done. *eyeroll* *l* My man, however, can say, “Yes, officer, I was speeding. But it’s my first time in the area and I didn’t know the speed limit changed right there.” And get away with it. He slides aaaaalllllll the time, which is why I don’t let him get away with jack-diddly around me. Gotta keep it balanced. (I really do have Libra, you know. 😉 )

  2. As my youngest son gets older he sounds more and more like your son. Tonight he stalled a bit finishing his homework. I told him when he was done to get in the bed, that it was too late for a story or dessert because he had wasted too much time. He smiled and happily complied. Kissed me good night very sweetly as is his usual. Damn hard to be annoyed at a kid like that isn’t it?

He is Cap sun, Aries moon, Virgo asc. and six years old.

  3. Oh and I get gifts from the universe very often but rarely do I get Get out of jail free cards. I do give them out on rare occasions to my kids. I can be a little judgmental about what is fair/not fair. I think I will cultivate a more open mind about those free passes. Maybe I’ll find myself on the receiving end more often that way.

  4. I think it’s a well-aspected Jupiter that gives those “get out of jail free” cards…

Does Jupiter trump Saturn? Where and when?

And those of us with “afflicted” Saturns may not recognize our good fortune when it happens…

  5. i see this happening, but i think it comes from already owning your shit and doing your work to begin with. there is a purpose to be server from the pickle, so get the purpose down and there’s no need to continue. like if you’ve learned what you need to quick and easy, you get a pass. which is also sort of what i was taking kashmiri to mean: not avoiding your saturn work if need be.

  6. Leo Jupiter, 11th house–not Saturn, but I’m lucky there! I do get a lot of lucky breaks and meet famous/accomplished people kind of easily, and it’s always as equals. Unexpected opportunities drop in my lap. I win stuff! 🙂

As for the “Get Out of Jail Free” theme, I do have Saturn in Pisces in the 7th. I have gotten into and out of two marriages pretty much unscathed and am good friends with both exes. Even more importantly, now that I think of it, my son who is from my second marriage reacted to our split with a shrug of his shoulders as he went on to the next adventure. (Super genius multi-Aquarian boy.)

Very interesting, I asked my first ex the other night why he thought people see me as very self-reliant and no one is ever very inclined to help me day to day. He said he thought it was because people thought I had sort of “made my bed” and had gotten off easy with two divorces and a son who was not dramatically and negatively affected like the naysayers predicted (and hoped?). I have always done my own thing, am kind of unconventional, and it bothers people that I don’t get my comeuppance. Ha ha! 🙂

Good post. I realize I am generally lucky and rarely get caught up in crap and soap operas. But I also attract good, solid people and do not even get involved with people who I can feel are trouble/energy drains. I get a physical reaction that is like “no, no, no” and I avoid them like the plague. Point being (sorry so long) because I reject negativity and trouble, the weight of my life is heavy on the positive, which breeds more of the same.

    If that made sense…:)

  7. Ha! I voted for the drink, because I’d really like a glass of wine but I’m too lazy to leave the house. I didn’t really mean the ‘card’ the way you presented the idea here, Elsa, I was referring to where your Saturn is natally and how that relates to the lessons you’re ‘meant’ to learn.
What you’re here to learn. If a person has Saturn in the 7th, they’re going to learn some lessons about Saturn/relationships. When Avery said ‘light at the end of the tunnel’ I meant more: if you’re learning your lessons, you’re learning them. You’re in them. Don’t worry about how they’ll end, etc.

I get ‘get out of jail free cards’ in the way of ‘are you kidding me?’ all them time (an example of this is money: I find it. Constantly. I’m routinely told I’m ‘lucky in life.’).

  8. A good story like that and two dollars will definitely get you on the bus, you might even find a get out of jail free card under the seat in front of you.

  9. I don’t get them. People do me favours- in the sense that people tend to like me so they are nice back. I get a LOT of that. But on ot bigger issues and problems. Absolutely not. For example: I am really sick right now, and have been for 8 months. So sick that I can hardly leave the house. But when I do leave the house, I get a smile from a stranger. But yeah, I would do anything for a get out of jail free card right now.

  10. Well, supposedly, having the ruler of 12th house in the 12th house is supposed to be a get out of tight jams because your enemies wind up powerless card.

But it’s Venus in Libra ruling the 12th (and the first) so I can’t decide!

    max
[‘I’m not actually dead, and I would say the odds have been against that the whole way.’]

  11. I’ve always heard it’s a mars/jupiter combination that is the get out of jail free card. I’ve literally heard other astrologers call it that, too, the get out of jail free card.

  12. Yes, I get them a lot actually. Could it be my Jupiter in Libra in the 11th house? Lucky combo isn’t it?

My daughter is a Capricorn and she is such a good girl. I’m so proud of her, her teacher tells me all the time “I let Asia go to the treasure chest twice today, because she was the only one who listened to me.”
My Virgo daughter is another story 🙂

  13. This topic is great!
At first, I agreed with Kashmiri – after all, I have a 7th house Saturn too and I think she’s right – in relationships I have to accept that there won’t be a prince charming that will sort out all my relationship problems.

But, in general, people tend to cut me some slack, probably my Sun-Jupiter conjunction in Sag 🙂

  14. I have gotten them a lot. I feel grateful and blessed. I have Jupiter in Sag on my asc, so I think that must have a lot to do with it. But Jupiter is also opposite Uranus in Gemini in my chart, so there have been some not always wonderful surprises as well!

  15. I know I’ve gotten away with stuff I shouldn’t but it’s never been extremely lucky or anything like that. I’ve gotten caught more often than not though. I have an exact Sun/Jupiter trine (sag/leo), and Jup trines merc/neptune as well but Saturn also squares it all and I feel that more. I have to work really hard for what I want.

My SO, on the other hand, is a very lucky person and has gotten more get out of jail free cards than anyone I know!!! Jupiter sextiles his Mars and trines his moon, but also squares Pluto and Chiron. It must be something else doing it for him! He doesn’t even ask for stuff, it just flows to him. I need some of what he has.
