Hey, everyone! I just got a notice, the cost to send my newsletter will increase 150%, mid-December. It’s way too high! I am working to reconfigure things, to get the cost down.
The new cost is based not only on the number of subscribers, but the number of emails sent, monthly. I got on the phone with aweber to get their advice. Based on that conversation, I am going to delete the list that sends emails when the blog updates. This is because, so many notices are sent. They add up!
I have a workaround in place. If you want to continue getting notified when the blog updates, you can sub to the service. See “Be Notified Of New Content” on the sidebar. There is also a module on the Heads Up newsletter page. Just scroll down.
This blog post will be the first test. I have imported the existing blog subscribers. Once I verify this is working, I will delete the existing list… immediately. If you get two emails, this is why! I’m sorry, but hopefully it will be the first and last time!
As for the Heads Up newsletter, I have deleted all “dormant” subscribers. This is to reduce the number of letters sent, that no one reads anyway? I prune my list regularly, but this was a deep cut.
It’s possible I un-subbed some people who do want the letter. If this happened to you, I apologize. It’s not personal. I am going strictly by what aweber tells me. If you do not get the letters or notices you want, please just resub.
That’s it! Thanks, everyone!
UPDATE – The new service is not quite ready for show time. Things will be as-is, until I can get the backend taken care of. Sorry!
To update again, I think the notices for “new blog post” are now going out, thanks to, Serdar! If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know. I have deleted the aweber list (for blog posts only, not “heads up”, so if you got two notices, it should not happen again. Thanks for your patience!

Pivoting goat! 👍🏽I’m still in for the news
Thank You
Looks like I’m still here!
Look at brevo.com 60/month for 50000 emails
I send more than that, but I will check it out.
Thanks for this tip. It is a bit cheaper. I’ll call them tomorrow.
What works for you, works for me. I appreciate all you do and share. Thank you.
Thank you Elsa!
You’re welcome.
Please note, I still don’t have the new blog post notice. sending yet. I am waiting on the guy behind the scenes to add the proper records. It is simple for him, and cumbersome for me, so I’m waiting. He just has his big engagement party; it should not be long.
