Drowning In Elemental Imbalance

Hey all,

So I have an abundance of Water in my chart. Second runner up - Fire; Air follows as a close 3rd; and Earth is practically nonexistent. The gap in "points" between Fire and Water is large enough that I can say I'm "water-dominant". Apparently, I have "too much" water. There is technically no such thing, but .

Anyone else have a superabundance of water over the other elements? How do you balance your emotions so that you don't drown in them? I haven't learned how to work with my energies in a way that hones in on my natural powers, while also not being a ball of rage, or sadness, or etc. as well as not feeling shame about my energies. Also how to work with such strong emotions and express them in a way that is empowering?

How to accept your emotional intelligence in such a cold world is what we're grappling with over here today.

xo ♡

couple of factors you may want to check out  --  are any of those placements in a sign of detriment or fall?  if so, the energy of that planet may not come across as strong.

next, the house placement.  if these natal placements are in houses associated with water  (4th house Cancer,  8th house Scorpio, 12th house Pisces) that could actually amp up the energy.  On the other hand, say you have water elements but they are located in houses associated with other elements, that energy is going to play out a lot differently.

and......you may just have to gain several more years of life experience to find what will really work best for you.

one thing I would like to say here  --  I do not know how old you are or what you do in life, DO NOT let others push your buttons about being too sensitive.  unfortunately very few people really understand the difference between being deeply emotional and highly sensitive.

I liked your question about balance.  I feel it comes down to priorities.   And those change as we go through life.  Something akin to picking your battles carefully.

Elemental imbalance  -  very good topic.  TY!!!

@sun-mar in terms of the overall topic, what were you trying to get at by saying "it won't come across as strong" when you spoke of planets in fall? 🤔

and these things are absolutely true. but I know I'm a very passionate person; my internal world is emotionally driven. I do lean on my other energies of course. but this water dominance is something fierce.

I appreciate it! I've absolutely been told that. trash human beings.

OK, as an example, let's use the planet Mars.  When Mars is in Aries, that is considered the dignity.  Mars is the ruler of Aries.  When Mars is in Libra, that is the opposite of Aries, that is considered it's detriment.  Unfortunately, someone with a natal Mars in Libra may have trouble using the sheer driving, physical force of Mars to get things done.  The thoughts are there, the plans can be all laid out, the actual pull the trigger, get up and go.......wellllll, not so much.  Then you take a natal Mars in Capricorn, that is the exalted position.  Mars in Cap is very driven.  To succeed,  to win, to go full-on in a pursuit, be it business or personal.  These are the people that can pull all nighters in college to study for an exam and once they are moving in a chosen career, if need be, they can and will still pull all nighters at the office.  Take that Mars across the zodiac, put it in Cancer, that is the fall position.  A water sign.  Cancer pretty much wears their heart on their sleeve.  It seems that the pure physical energy of Mars in Cancer seldom provides the get up and go jump start.  Mars is just pure outer energy  -  sometimes aggressive, sometimes just almost non-stop, can't sit still energy.   In Cancer, just does not pack much of a punch.   Like an odd piece of a jigsaw puzzle, something just does not fit right.

Just about everybody has at least one natal placement that is located in either the detriment or fall.  It is just something we all work through.  People that work  lot of charts, they generally have their own limits / standards as to how much emphasis is given a singular placement.

@sun-mar I know. I'm not a rookie 🤓 but ok I get you. so you're saying the water planets being in detriment or fall give more specificity to the nature of this internal conflict/imbalance that I navigate / may even be the source. that was initially "lost in translation" for me.

People generally attract the elements they are missing in their close relationships. I am heavy earth and tend to attract everything but earth Smile

A fellow water person here! I have 8 planets in water signs, with my pisces moon in the 8th house (with equals - to which I relate most). Moon, Mercury, Mars and Ascendent all trine Pluto and of course a grand water trine. One fire planet ( Aries sun) and zero air.
I am not emotional in the expressive way, but i am deeply sensitive. Honestly, i love my water chart - the intuition it gives is out of this world.
