I've been thinking about Pluto in Capricorn in relation to Pluto transitioning into Aquarius.

From what I understand, Pluto is destructive, which necessarily implies transformation. With Capricornian structures being dismantled right now, I wonder, what will become of those things when Pluto transits Aquarius?

Some of the the things I'm specifically thinking of are:

  • People working longer, even into old age
  • Younger people not knowing respect for the elderly
  • More people becoming, or staying, single into old age

I won't assert whether the breakdown of structures that center around aging, the elderly, and tradition is good or bad, but I'd like to examine the roles of Pluto in Capricorn and Aquarius in these examples and what this transition will eventually look like in everyday society.

While traditionally the elderly in our society have been regarded with respect, and as bearers of wisdom, it is also true that even when the elderly are highly respected and included, people still tend to lose visibility as they age.

Currently, because traditional structures such as marriage, work, and relations across the generations, have experienced a breakdown, which I believe have generally been attributed to Pluto's transit through Capricorn, some people are entering their golden years under far more stress than their parents and grandparents. It seems that how this will pan out is still up in the air.

I know that Pluto in Aquarius has its own agenda, especially in relation to the tech boom, but how will the things lost in Pluto's transit through Capricorn look as they rebuild or reemerge in Pluto's transition and transit through Aquarius? Will they, at all? If they do, will they seem Aquarian?

I think one possibility is that, as a result of loneliness or alone-ness in the elderly, friendships across the generations will become more common. Not the traditional Capricornian relationships of respect, regard, or reverence for the elderly as vessels of wisdom and experience, but friendships based on the personality, ideas, and the individual in relation to the group. In this way, I wonder if it will become common for people to retain their visibility or validity as humans, as they age.

This could be a result of the changing work environment. As people work longer, it could become increasingly common for companies and organizations to have more even numbers of individuals, from different several generations, working side by side rather than being an environment of mostly middle-aged people and younger. This type of environment would be conducive to people forming the types of friendships described above.

I don't know whether this idea has any validity, or if it's too out there, simply wrong, Pollyanna, or if the question has been posed before. But, I'd like to know: What do you think? Feel free to write on topic or off topic, or expand the topic as you see fit, as only a few examples of a much larger subject are included above.

I think Pluto in Aquarius will destroy technology as we know it. Perhaps something happens to the grids and power is taken out? That is one possibility.

Aquarius is about being autonomous and doing your own thing. It is texting to another person while sitting at the same table with them. These things will be utterly transformed when Pluto moves to the space/science/technology sign.

Science could be transformed itself and robots will be everywhere and looking so human that no one will tell the difference.

I think these are some things that Pluto in Aquarius will bring.

Pluto in Capricorn is dealing with the elderly [Capricorn] and we still have a ways to go until the end. And I think assisted suicides of the elderly will come more into focus towards the end. But I also think there could be more focus on assissted suicide for the younger generation too. People are rattled with the harshness of life and these young folks who have been coddled all their lives may start looking for ways out.

Pluto destroys and then rebuilds what it hits.

Good question and very well written. Tonya, I was thinking about assisted suicide as well.

There definitely has been kind of a decimation of the lifestyle that the elderly used to have. Theyre on their own now, in nursing homes, or being taken care of children that are already overburdened by their own lives.

I see it somewhat like you do Buendia, except that I think itll be focused less on workplace and more about communities, where everyone will have some kind of valid place in the social structure. Im sure that wont be an easy transition in the first part of Pluto in Aquarius, because there will have to be a lot of deprogramming around induvidualism. But I bet by the end, itll all reconfigure into something more wholesome and enlightened.

Of course, I cant say anything for sure! I might have to look back at some history and see what happened the last time Pluto was in Capricorn and Aquarius. Im a lazy student though, so no promises.

I find the thought interesting that friendships will be formed across generations.

I think what we think of as family will no longer be biological but people that are like minded, Jesus did say who is my Mother ? who is my brother?

There does appear to be a large divide coming in the way people think.

Friends (Aquarius) will stab each other in the back. Hobos will hack your computers. Birds will fly into windows. Teenagers will smoke out all the pot! And poets will buy those damn sterile robots! It's a conspiracy man, a conspiracy!!! eek eek eek
