Ugh, the recent astro-weather has me fried... No sleep under the full Moon, everything Mercury-ruled going tits-up and Jupiter in my 6th has added a ton of things to my to-do list. I gather September's going to be busy as well 🤣

Someone just responded to, "Stevie", on an old blog post.  She was a close friend of mine... who's passed.

Ugh.  Well, at least I'm thinking of her.

@elsa It’s really messed with me. Can’t wait until Aug 27 or 28 (when I think it’s passed).

Mike Lynch

People think they get away with things. But they don't.

Stephen Chamberlain died after being struck by a car while out running in Stretham on 17 August 2024

Weird right? Both gone in different circumstances, but both gone about the same time.

@hades-moon and it's being pushed under the radar. Someone was not happy with these fellows.... or it was just a coincidence.... hmm

One is at the bottom of the sea and the other just happened to be jogging when... yeah, okay.

@hades-moon I know. At first, I thought... wait a minute. Why isn't there a bigger fuss. The news is so stupid. JLo everywhere but little about this. Then I started reading. OMG... Very big.

@soup Right? Even my husband, who wasn’t ALL IN but did what he felt was right, what he had to do for work, and what made his friends and family comfortable, is now like 🙄 ffs.

It’s 59 out with a high of 69 today. I love it.

It will be back in the low 80’s next week which is lovely, too. But this is such a wonderful break from the humidity of late and the heat and humidity most of July and August.

@allie120 67 here right now. I love these kinds of mornings. Might not seem cool but it is for this area. I love it. We are pretty much done with the hottest part of summer... it will gradually cool off now. So beautiful outside. I agree with you

@soup I’m so glad you’ve got that weather coming your way.

It all reminds me that this stretch into October is my favorite time of year. It’s the weather, the light, the way the clouds sometimes contrast the sky, the fairs, our anniversary, going to a winery and looking out at the changing leaves, sitting in the cabin with the doors open, the way the light comes in that time of year…🥰

@allie120 I love fall. I am so homesick around fall because while it cools down and we get a version of it... there is no crisp air...I know you understand what I mean. At home the air was cool and crisp... footfalls on the leaves.... the sounds. Wind picks up too... you can smell it. And I miss it and loved it. Some people can smell snow on the way. I can smell fall.

The good here is the amount of green everywhere. I live in a forest. And it's green all year. Cold here is 50 degrees. Cold at home was minus 15 wind chill or worse. Still, I miss it. I have not seen snow in 4 years. And truth is I do miss it. We had 4 pronounced seasons. Now we have summer and then January February... which are not cold... and back to summer. I can't complain... the produce, the safety...

But I miss my home.

@soup It does look like your area is beautiful, as it’s near the Appalachias?

I know people love their regions and I love that. I think it’s so difficult for those of us who grew up with and love distinct and different seasons to fully embrace fewer distinct seasons?

But there are people who love the longer, extreme winters, lots of snow and cold. Just as there are those who love Florida or the desert. It’s just a preference. I’m in my head trying to imagine two seasons. I know I would find beauty there and maybe my favorite season would fall from such a crisp memory. But then you get a smell or the afternoon light or a cool temperature and your heart skips. Corny but true 😂

I will have to ask my sister how she feels. She grew up, like me, in central NY. Now she’s in Memphis. They close down the city when there’s snow (I understand why).
