Boy Swallows Universe on Netflix: Australian family (not for little kids though) drama with some other worldly aspects.
Lessons in Chemistry. I read the book after watching the series. Very different as adaptations are.
While at lunch with friends, I brought this up. Person 1 has a PhD in chemistry, had started the book and put it down when she read something she didn’t like. Person 2 asked if the book was put in time out. Person 1 responded “Yes, it’s being punished.”
Loved this. Also got me to finally read Great Expectations, which I also liked.
The Red Shoes. 1948. There's a 15 minute ballet, halfway through.
Still watching OA. It's original and may be too farfetched for some, but I've found it smart an interesting. Mindbending, even. An exercise in fathoming how other people think. I guess no one has seen this or you might have said something? I wonder what others think. Different from what I think, I'm sure. I guess I'll read reviews.
teeceedee7 and I were just mentioning The OA a couple of pages back on this thread! That show really stuck with me, although it has been like 5 years so I don't remember all of the details. I do believe there are elements of truth in the story. If you are interested in NDEs, this was an excellent episode of my favorite podcast and resonated with my beliefs: https://www.bialikbreakdown.com/watch-podcast/elizabeth-g-krohn-jeffrey-kripal
The movie Interstellar is another one that explores these concepts and also stuck with me. I like to think deeply about what is actually going on here on earth. Nothing is too far fetched for me to at least consider. I am not blessed with any of the clairs but I have a lot of 12th house and feel I am strongly steered in certain directions.
