Are you opinionated?  There is an astrologer I've know for a long time; he's recently become active on twitter and he's super opinionated. That's not criticism, it's an observation.  He is exceptionally opiniated, which I like, personally. Stand up and say it!

But I also think male astrologers can get away with this a lot easier that women. If I were saying what he is, I'd be called, Karen, for sure.

This guy is swinging his opinions around like a penis. It's amazing, really. I don't think he has Libra...

But I am not saying I am not opinionated. I am to a degree, but also have an eye on the the lookout for some error I've made.

Are you opinionated? How do you see this in your chart?

I have no fixed energy in my chart, & a ton of mutable+cardinals. My opinions are....very malleable! So no, I wouldn't say I'm opinionated.

But these doesn't mean that I don't have opinions, just that I take a really, really long time to form one. Think, 6/7 years.

This is from real life- I've been asked by others, about my opinions on person A, after knowing them for all of, 1 year, I think?

My actual response was, I'm going to reserve my opinion till we cross, a certain point of our relationship (which wasn't going to take place until 5 more years or so).

And yes, I finally did form one opinion, & ready to share:)

I usually keep my opinions to myself with strangers until I get to know people better I won't voice my opinion because I might offend them. Maybe my Scorpio stellium does this, but I'm also Cap rising so want to be respected.

Around people I know I'm very opinionated, Mercury in Sag trine Moon in Leo. Sometimes I feel I say too much with people I'm comfortable with. I have strong opinions on what's right and wrong and with what's been going on currently in the world feel more of a need to speak out, yet at the same time I think people really don't want to hear it. I get it, it's stressful thinking about these things and I also have to take a break from it too.

Yes, I can be extremely opinionated. I’m Aquarius sun.

BUT…I am able to sit back and listen and be moderate.

Well, the opinionated astrologer is opining. I think it's a way of establishing yourself on social media. I don't fare so well because of my broad range of interests.

Also, when debating in school, you had to argue whatever side you were assigned. People would freak if they had to do that today, but its a good exercise, illustrating, there is more than one perspective.

@elsa That is a good exercise. It teaches one to make it less personal. Debate is all personal nowadays and it shouldn’t be. It makes you focus on the topic, the facts, to stretch and try to see things from another POV and defend or dismantle.

@allie120 Since I had never been to the future... I loved to debate. I took it as a total challenge - kill! Kill! Kill!

Sorry! Mars Mercury! I whooped ass in debate, and they badly wanted me in the club; to lead the club but my family life... well we were denied everything so it couldn't happen.

Looking at how it is today, pains my soul because there are other young kids out there who have mental prowess and wish to hone it.

You really are not allowed to have a sharp mind at this time. It's easy to see, as I am in trouble on a daily if not an hourly basis.

Before my P moon leaves Sagittarius, let me just say, FUCK YOU to people like this.

@elsa What an amazing skill to have! When you do see people with it, I find it very respectable. Skills!

I think it is skill, a talent, but also it can be honed. But I also think the expectations and so low nowadays.

@elsa : do you have a professional astrologer pen pal whom you respect and writes well? I would love to edit a book of your letters to each other, in which you two discuss various topics under the sun. A kind of Elizabeth Barrett and Robert Browning thing (disclaimer: which I haven't read but sounds great). That would be an interesting alternative to reading tweet chains, blogs or forum posts. Such a book would surely be opinionated but in a well-rounded way. I picture the book to be an enlightening piece of twenty-first century commentary about people's foibles, which as astrologers you have a front row seat too. The difference between this book and your existing books is that you would be interacting with your peer. In your other books you are alone narrating. But it would have to be a peer of like mind; someone who can match wits with you, rather than, say, a student type. It would also be someone who will engage with you in good faith, i.e. not the adversarial type. This could be sold on the mainstream market through a big publishing house.

Maybe you already thought of this and I'm just telling you something you already did.

@aquarius-lurker I thought of this in 1994 when I first got online!

I went to alt.astrology - first site ever... managed to leave a message and got FLAMED by a Scorpio.

He blew my doors off, so he thought. But I came back to respond and holy shit did we hit it off.

I wrote this guy for HOURS for about 6-8 months. Man did we burn up the internet... I interacted with him and only him, all that time. He taught me the internet, digital photography, internet phone calls, email etiquette, you name it... further we brought out each other's brilliance so I proposed we write a book -  He said / she said, like Saturday night live, if you know the skit.

It goes, "Jane, you ignorant slut..."

and "Dan, you pompous ass..."

Point/Counterpoint  Because we were both very funny too, but fighting and feeding each other.

He was kind of interested.  Liz Greene and Howard Sasportas did this, successfully. I truly thought we'd blow them out of the water, because it was so fun and funny but also sharp.  He has a PhD in psych...

Ultimately, I think this is why it didn't happen. I just don't have his credentials but man, we should have done it. That was probably some of the best writing of my life.

It definitely a great idea. I have no doubt we'd be famous as shit right now, had we done that.

He's still around, by the way.

I can remember that first response after he flamed me. Something about, "Neptune, you asshole..."

He owned alt.astrology back then.

edit to add... he did apologize for his initial judgment of me. He said I can't just come on alt.astrology and write dumb things or something... oh my God, I am sure I wrote 2000 pages of hard core astrology..

This is when I first started interacting with astro people outside of my sister.  I had some times at local astro clubs too... I used to have these stories written but took them down because... well, you know astrologers... it's all very serious.

But I did watch the film of the comet hitting...whatever it hit.  They wanted to correlate it with OJ trial.

I told them it looked like a sperm entering an egg and OJ was fucked.

ha ha ha

Yeah, I really said that.  I was used to my sister, see?

And then other things happened. Smile

@elsa : ya I know the SNL skit.

You didn't keep the correspondence with the alt.astrology founder? Oh well.

Liz Greene is serious, as in studious. Her type of writing is for a different market than what I envision. Btw, to be clear, I'm not in publishing. I just like working on writing projects as a consultant.

@aquarius-lurker well its a really good idea. And no, I didn't keep the writing. Also, he did not start alt.astrology. he was holding court there. He dominated.

And I know Liz Greene's style. I'm just saying, our style was fun and funny, with a lot of chemistry. My idea was to do a Male/Female thing, that was entertaining but also educational. We stimulated each other.

This was near the time, Michael Lutin, published, Made In Heaven, which was really funny and great. I understand he toned it way down in subsequent editions, but the first printing was a riot.

I guess you might say he would prefer to collaborate with a Liz Greene type... Rather than comedy astrology which I enjoy.

I just bring it up because it's exactly what you outlined. I told him, the writing was already done.

He did consider it, seriously. I was surprised when he said no. My idea was to have a chapter on each planet and let it rip. Oh well.

I also liked talking to Claire France-Perez. Double Gemini. I learned a lot from her..  She quit astrology because consulting got to heavy. This was years ago.

I don't know any astrologers very well. I don't think many like me, though they hire me. I am hard to control and just a pain, I guess. I actually understand. This is why it's so special when it does happen.  Mental chemistry is delightful.

It was an exchange for the ages in my view. I thought that at the time. Nothing similar has happened since. Really, politics has ruined almost all interactions. Then come to find out it's all theatre, designed for this purpose. We've all been gamed.

@elsa : On that last point: ya I know. What a bore. I do it myself to other people (i.e. stop interacting with others bc of what I perceive as their tiresome opinionating along partisan lines), so I'm included in that.

Well - I guess the book of correspondence idea had its window and it's shut now.

P.s. I keep posting in the wrong place and I don't have the ability to delete the wrongly-placed post. So apologies for double posting
