Hello… My name is Moon Pluto. What’s yours?

It’s 2003, and I’m in a drop-in astrology class. I’m so wild about the instructor that I book a natal-chart reading right away. A couple days later, I’m sitting across from him in a little room at a little table with a velvet covering and he’s got my chart in front of him. “Moon Pluto!” he says. You’ve got Moon Pluto.” Of course he said much more than that, but that was the beginning.

A few years later, when I found Elsa’s blog and wanted to leave a comment, moonpluto was the only nickname that occurred to me, or appealed to me.

I’ve got this theory that everybody’s got SOME THING in their natal chart that screams out THIS IS ME! THIS IS ME OR ELSE!

So what about you?

What is that one thing in your chart that tells your story most of all and helps to explain all the neuroses and confusions and stumbling blocks and cravings, desires, and you say, out loud, to yourself, “Ohhhhhhhhh, so that’s why. So that’s who.”

Do you see yourself in your chart? What stands out the most?

  1. Cardinal grand cross. I see EVERYTHING from all angles all at once and it’s ALL interrelated. The guy who read my chart said, “…oh! You’re interesting!”. LOL.

  2. Chiron/Ceres/Sun? (Also conjunct Mercury.)
I don’t know… it was more looking back over transits, that left me believing in astrology. My mother once joked that I’d make a good politician, because I try to see both sides of a situation (she wanted my opinion, and I was on the fence). I’m blushing as I type this. I could possibly see that in my Moon/Venus conjunction. She also thought I should have been a 60’s hippy girl (Uranus conjunct asc, aspecting Sun, Moon, Venus, Nodes, Mars…)

I’ve spent too much time here, so am really only commenting to welcome you to writing on this part of the site. 🙂

  3. Moon Baby! Yeah 🙂

I have a couple different things that I rotate in and out as my dominant theme.

Right now I’m in kind of an “acknowledging my Leo side” phase. My Scorpio side is often embarrassed by my Leo side. I’m trying to get over that and just shine. So, currently it’s Leo rising/Leo Mars.

  4. Moon Baby thanks you — Oh you’ve got Venus square Mars, doncha Nota?

And we’ve got a moon-venus and a moon-neptune so far… I call these the pretty aspects :)And I would call them that since I have so much neptune myself 😉

  5. @Lupa, I love that clicking into place feeling. That’s exactly the kind of thing I’m talking about.

    (Pickles!)

  6. Is it bad to say it depends on my mood? I can’t pick just one and I don’t have Libra (‘cept for ‘ol Pluto). Crap I feel like I need to be more committal.

  7. Welcome to the regular feed, MoonPluto. I’ve always enjoyed your posts and look forward to your future content.

Saturn conjunct Sun here. Saturn’s my chart ruler, so it colors everything I do (or, more accurately, puts everything in monochrome black and white). I am really working toward moving beyond the notion that I have to do everything perfectly all the time – and by extension, expect everyone else to do the same. It’s a tall order, but it’s time to do something about it.

  8. Welcome Moon Pluto. While I’m frequently a slave to Taskmaster Saturn, it’s my third house Sag Moon that declares, “If I’m not happy, ain’t nobody else here gonna be happy.” Key to who I am is indulging that, with Mercury equally receptive to work, work, work or unexpected messages from the Gods. Guess that’s about as streamlined and narrowed down I can be at the moment on topic.

  9. My Mars-Chiron in Gemini-12th house sticks out to me…but I don’t quite know what to call it in terms of pithy nicknames!

this is so cool, i love where this blog is going! congrats everyone 🙂

  10. Congrats MP on this cool new writing gig!!! I think I would have ro say my 12th house Gemini Sun,lol. I always wondered why I was soooo different from your ” typical” Gemini 🙂

  11. I am still fairly new to understanding astrology, however, my sun is in Gemini and my moon is in Sagittarius. I think this leans a hand in me being super reflective as Gemini and Sagittarius are polar opposites. Since the light of the moon is actually a reflection of the light of the sun, there is a constant need in me to observe.

  12. What is it about that 12th House….. A few of you commented on it. Interesting that it’s so “loud” for such a “quiet” house.

  13. Wow!! How exciting! Congratulations on crossing over to the writing side, Moonpluto! We are all rooting for you! You’ll do wonderfully. Can’t wait!

  14. Well lookie here! What a surprise!

Hmm, prolly Sun, Mercury, and Mars in the 12th stands out the most. I was reminded of how ‘weird’ I am by a friend today. I’m out thar!! It’s a compliment though, weird is good.

Congrats fellow Pluto 1st houser, looking forward to more! 🙂

  15. Cap Moon in 1st house with Neptune on the Asc but I think Saturn sextile Neptune is really my essence, -having “the ability to bring realism and idealism together for constructive aims.” =)

  16. YAYYYY MOONPLUTO waytago!

neptune in 1st scorpio, moon in 12th libra….shhhhhh I see dead people and the unseen world……

  17. moon in aquarius, some people say i have a mind of my own. and i have jupiter in scorp and i realized that i got an ability to heal myself. this power, baby

  18. Welcome Moonpluto !!<3

Hmm.. what stands out is my choca block full of planets in the 11th and 10th house.. Scop, Sag and Libra!! This combination describes me to TEE! Social with a twist, smiling at you…LOL

  19. Awesome moonpluto, enjoy yourself!

I’m divided (as usual, and yes I have Libra) on what’s my dominant chart element.

I’d probably have to say my Venus/conj/Sun, opposing my Saturn. A love of pleasure and of love, constantly thwarted! But my chart ruler Mercury is also very dominant, and poorly aspected. Thereby hang some tales. They are the poles of my experience

  20. I always felt more Aquarian than Piscean despite being a Pisces Sun… it wasn’t until Elsa pointed out my Sun was in the 11th house using ‘equal’ houses that it all clicked for me.
Upon further investigation I discovered I have 7 planets or points in Aquarius, and 4 in the 11th house… oh and don’t forget the 13 aspects to Uranus in my chart (if you include all the ‘additional objects’ like Vertex etc). Discovering those definitely made me say out loud ‘“Ohhhhhhhhh, so that’s why”

  21. Thanks again 🙂 Anyone want to take a guess at why the natal moon is so often cited here? Not that I mind 🙂 and for the record I’ve got the conjunction, 1st house/virgo, pretty much sextiled all around the chart.

I’m really interested in the differences though, between the conjunction, the square, the opposition, etc when it comes moonplutonions. Anyone notice any other similarities in the responses?

  22. Hiya, EggMoon! 😀 *waves like mad*

No brainer for me: my Libra stellium.
Mars-Venus-Pluto all conjunct, sitting at the base of my chart, hitting everything and everyone else. If you can’t wrap your head around it, I’ll beat it into you … eventually. 😉

What most people see first, though, is STUBBORN. Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. Immovable object. If I had early Leo planets instead of late Leo, I’d have a fixed grand cross. *grins*

  23. I think my moon square pluto sticks out, but I think it just sticks out to me because its my hardest, most intense aspect. However, if you just glanced my chart for the first time you’d probably notice the 1st house stellium.

Anything moon-pluto seems to be pretty freaking intense, and yin.

Ooh, moonpluto, congrats on your new job! Looking forward to your contributions already!

I’ve got an unaspected (save for an exact opposition to Chiron – 0’00” orb! How’s that!) 12th house Scorpio Moon sitting on my Asc. I noticed it right away when I first made my chart online. I have other important and nice stuff too, of course – I like my Taurus Sun conjunct Venus, I like my Sag Neptune trining my 6th house stellium, I like my Saturn cojunct Jupiter in Libra etc. But my Moon is what I largely identify with, so when it was time for choosing my user name, I had no doubt as to what’s it gonna be. It makes me who I am, for good and bad.

  25. ThankYou MoonPluto !!!

    Here Saturn Square Neptune !!!

Now i am also having Pluto Square Moon My Moon at 10° Libra !!!

    Blessings !!!

  26. yay, mp! great starter post- really got me thinking.

i would say i can “see” myself clearly in 3 parts of my chart.

jupiter rising conjunct sun at 29° pisces 12th H.
(aaaagghhh- the anaretic, and i’ve felt it- but i’m still here 😉

aries 1st house moon conj. chiron and venus

mercury and mars in aqua 11th house.

shows who i am and how i connect spiritually, how and what i feel, and how i think and act. pretty much me in a nutshell-

  27. Hi MP!!!! Great to see you here.

I guess the most obvious thing about my chart is how cardinal it is (loaded 4th, 7th and 10th). Moon in 4th, Saturn in 10th, softened by Moon trine Neptune in the 8th. I’m kind of all over the place.
