It was Frederick Woodruff of the Rage of Aquarius podcast that got me thinking about “grifting”. He was seeing this happening all around. I see it as well. It’s become utterly commonplace. It’s on the verge of becoming “normal behavior”.
I feel this is a good time to write about this because Saturn and Neptune are stationing in Pisces. Random info, it was astrologer, Stephen Arroyo, who estimated the power of a planet is increased tenfold, when stationing. If he’s anywhere near correct, this is a peak time to be scammed.
I’m prompted to write this today, because I was talking to a client yesterday. She’s a Pisces with a Scorpio moon, married to a Scorpio with a 12th house, Pisces moon.
The client’s husband has a massive T-square in Mutable signs. His entire chart is in Mutable signs, including a large 9th house stellium in Sagittarius. You can imagine the pressure he’s under and how distorted his reality may or not be.
The client is (no flattery, she doesn’t even read here), an angel with keen insight. She’s literally watches over all her family, including every niece or nephew, all day, every day. At the moment, she’s watching her husband be scammed! Yep, he’s involved with some grifters. This is involving fraud and leases. Losses are $20K and climbing. I think she’s trying to get him out of this for $40K. He keeps slipping on banana peels.
This is another form of grifting:
The AI Version Of Me (Pluto In Aquarius – Death Of Creativity)
My lifelong friend, Ben, was also hacked. I sent the grifter a $400 gift card, which I was able to recover. Minor miracle.
Then you have Twitter (or whoever) paying for viral content. Big accounts steal the creative product of smaller accounts and profit from it.
The desperation part of this came up because I think it’s a factor in the client’s situation. The scammers are desperate and locked on a target. She already understands she is going to have to pay to get rid of them. Point here is for some, scamming is a game, but for some…well they will stop at nothing. You can blame this in part, on Saturn in Pisces. Consequences are foggy or perhaps, denied.
Bottom line, I’d be extra careful at this time. We’re all distracted. I know I’m weird but this is one of the things I studied, when I was young. Con men. The graphic is from the movie, Paper Moon. Father and daughter grifters. Reminds me of my father and I playing cards… though we didn’t cheat, it was still a “show”. I looked into this, which means I read every book in existence on this topic.
Point is, a key feature of every scam is to distract the mark. We’re all distracted, see? So we’re all at risk, marks waiting to happen.
You don’t have to be paranoid, but if you get niggling feeling, I’d mind it.
Have you noticed this behavior becoming more common?
Interesting. A highly reputable dentist advised invasive procedures but when questioned and suggestion of seeking specialists opinions backed off to most conservative treatment (my preference) though he initially denied it was an option. I did accept there’s no guarantee with the conservative approach but cmon there’s no guarantee with any approach. If I hadn’t consulted a friend dentist (out of state) and then my dentist I would never have known the difference and just accepted an extraction and implant which I may not need.
Interesting, Kelly. What you say aligns with an article I recently saw saying that there can be a fair amount of wiggle room in dentistry regarding certain procedures, whereas I always thought it was more black and white.
I do agree though, because I got an onlay last year because the dentist said my tooth was cracked and I needed it, and I regret it a little, because now my tooth aches sometimes, whereas it didn’t before.
Also, got a biopsy this year which turned out to be a big nothing, $1400 later.
I’m not really a medical skeptic, so I don’t mean to sound like I am advocating that we don’t trust health care providers.
But, I am definitely skeptical of all the financial firms that have turned institutions we used to trust into profit-generators.
After the massive mRNA “vaccine” scam, from which many doctors profited due to payments from Pharma, I think some skepticism is in order until a doctor earns your trust…
I’ve never understood the amount of effort people put into grifting and scams, and it does seem like there are more of them. It seems like more work than an actual job. It’s the same thing with liars. Who can keep track of all the stories?
I seem to have been blessed with a built in lie detector. It’s not 100%, but it’s gotten more accurate over time.
I just read your Hand Truck story. I can relate to being clueless to my impact on people. It doesn’t occur to me that anyone is paying attention. I actually had a comment chat with Frederick about charisma and Venus, a while back. He said something to the effect that my Aquarius Venus in a female just stands out… it’s unexpected energy, so people notice.
I see people on you tube stealing other people’s creative work all the time. Making a profit and getting away with it. I try not to watch those. You would think they could regulate that.
Ha. Watching millenial influencers teach ancient wisdom saying it’s completely new wisdom invented and originating in them is…
Well, another reason to narrow where I spend time or source my info and entertainment.
Grifters.
This one has “invented” “alchemystic astrology” 😄
I received an obvious scam attempt in my inbox this morning…first in a long time…The game is on….
I got crypto come-ons via text from WhatsApp that i only use to talk to my friend in India! Got “Hello” messages by text from unknown numbers. Blocked them. Also have several fraud charges to my credit card and it took 7 days to get my replacement card! Yes, it’s on!
Grifting is big business now that Trump announced he’s going to make America the Cripto capital of the world! Batten down the hatches!
Yep – there is a scam gaining ground in my state right now. The caller says they are ‘a Sargent from the local county sheriff’s department and they need to talk to me about a very important matter.’ I checked it out after the first VM, bc I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize, and the first thing that popped up on my local sheriff’s website was a warning about this scam. They’ve left messages for my husband and the other day my parents called me to let me know that they had also received a call from these people! I have reported it to the state’s attorney general and warned the rest of my family. I despise this type of behavior. If I could get my hands on the man leaving these messages, he’d definitely need the sheriff to protect him. Mars in Leo 8th house for me, conjunct my Saturn – FAFO FOR SURE.
I deleted my entire Facebook history and content, my Twitter account AND deleted my entire META content as well before Pluto went into Aquarius, and Neptune/Saturn/Pisces took off.
Lately I changed my name on LinkedIn as well, to not include all names…
I was called by a phone scammer yesterday though, but one I was able to reject asap.
Of course, there could be stuff out there about me I don’t even know about. I do hope the damage is limited, but Holy banana you need to be aware these days!
