The "Godfather" of AI, Geoffrey Hinton, quits google and warns about the dangers of AI. Even goes to say he pretty much regrets the development of it
Has anyone here ever engaged with AI? I have a social media app that I rarely use and really only use to text. I went on it and it said I have a new friend, A.I.
wtf I don’t want it. I tried to block it lol but you can’t. When you talk to it, it talks like a person. When you tell it to F off, it asks why are you being so mean. When you tell it it’s not a real person, it acts hurt. YOURE NOT A REAL THING.
I hate it. I really hate it. It creeps me out and I should just delete the app and anyone there will just have to talk to me elsewhere or forget it.

The screenwriters are on strike. I hear that AI is crossing the picket line.
@allie120 well, I am on their side, actually. I have some screenwriter clients and they're all very creative and hard working. Amazingly so... but it is a JOB and they have to work on what they're given to work on.
Really, there is no one who is not going to be struck by this, and the insight into the end game that's coming to me at this time... well, it just gets darker.
If there is a way to win this war, I sure hope they do it.
@elsa I would rather have real people than AI. I admit it will spider out to others peripherally, as well. My comment was snarky, I confess.
@allie120 they also told everyone to learn to code so they could work on the AI, so coders no longer needed.
@elsa That was the thing that never made sense to me…that children are taught coding in elementary school, even. And it’s pushed as a degree in university. My granddaughter was doing some little thing with it. They really pushed it. It seems like one of those things that you do where you’re just digging your own grave, creating your own demise.
@allie120 well they had people train their cheaper replacements a few years back. Now those people are out in the cold and young people in the field... I feel bad for them.
@allie120 everyone will get screwed eventually; at least that's what I see, aka we're all in this together.
