I have natal moon in Cancer. I sometimes surprise myself when I realize I've been moody!
I rarely notice any lunar placement except Capricorn. I seem to be energized physically when the moon is close to my natal Cap sun.
When I was 18, I bought the red ephemeris by Michelson that went to the year 2000. So funny that we couldn’t access it online back then. I actually miss looking things up in a physical book; it felt more mystical. Anyway, what I accidentally discovered was that my menstrual cycle always corresponded with the same moon sign. Because the moon governs tides and our body has a large composition of water, it’s always made sense to me that it is a powerful force.
I am always much more fascinated with one’s moon sign, aspects and house placement than their Sun 🙂. I feel I get to know people on a more intimate level via this means. I guess I’m always interested in what’s below the surface. Psychology teaches us how much our first caretaker (usually the mother), shapes us. The moon reveals this powerful influence, and I love how through astrology we can access this information.
I do not track the moon daily; I look it up when something interesting has happened and I feel prompted to investigate. Over the past 2 years, I have observed that whenever I have an appointment with my specialist/surgeon, the transiting moon is in my 8th house.
Moon rules my 7th House. I strongly feel the balsamic phase of the moon. I self-isolate to the best of my ability during those 3 days before the new moon. It operates like a fine Swiss watch. I cannot socialize or be around many people during that time. They irritate the hell out of me.
I also noticed the progressed Moon shows as a person in my life. When it was in Leo 8th House I hung out with coworker who has Leo stellium square Scorpio Pluto. When it was in Virgo 9th House I had a crush on Virgo Sun with Sadge Mars.
I think the fact you're being drawn towards the moon and it's cycles is significant and it's part of something bigger, a way of connecting. It's cool you got to see the eclipse!
You were right! Tracking the moon turned into a really significant endeavor. Coming up on two months of observing the lunar cycles closely, and created a new moon ritual for the beginning of each cycle.
Also Libra rising here. Backwards, never look at it that way 🙂 But is true, sometimes hard to interpret. @buendia: I am with you, moon in 4th, 8th and 12th house can be hard, though I have a Pisces moon. I tracked my moon and when it goes through Aries (7th house) things tend to get stirred up for the good or bad, not only with a partner but with people in general. Moon in Libra f.e. makes me definitely feeling more content, stable. Interesting topic!
