I have said to my younger colleagues: ''While you are here at this dead-beat job take on a study. I have. I have studied astrology for all these years and now read charts for money.  Study during the evening shifts. Create yourself a nice little side-hustle while sitting in these chairs waiting for the phone to ring. (we are receptionist). You can endlessly scroll on the internet and be bored or you can take your future in your own hands''.

Don't just automatically trust an authority figure. Do your own research especially when it comes to your health. Take care of your health you only get one body. Short term pleasures of eating junk food is not worth it. Don't put anything into your body you don't know enough about, especially experimental stuff with no long term studies done on it.

Find out what you're passionate about in life and pursue it. I was always told to work hard and that's what life is about. When I pursued happiness as my only goal I met the love of my life and got a job and a promotion not long after.

Life's too short to dwell on the past or on trauma. Focus on finding happiness and creating goals that lead you to the things you want in life. I spent too much time being sad about the past instead of enjoying what I had right now.

I feel for young people, I think things are going to become much harder. When I was a kid, I was so naive and didn't see how dark the world could be. I feel like kids are now being inundated with so much information and a lot of it deception and twisting of truth. They are going to have a much harder time of separating truth from lies.

‘One of my greatest lessons:

”Rejection is God’s protection”

‘I have lived long enough now to know this is true. During these times you may be initially sad, but down the track you will be saying “Thank you, God 🙏🏻.” Initially, it may not be apparent why the rejection is a blessing, but down the track the truth reveals itself.

@hades-moon 🎯That's a good one! I have found this to be true more than a few times in my life

It is painful not to get what you had hoped for/ the door shut in your face but sometimes what we wanted was not what we needed at all. With the passage of time it does reveal a hidden gift.

This is a great thread. I would add that it's good to get your blood flowing, preferably through some dedicated exercise but if that doesn't always work, take the stairs!

Getting some morning light can do wonders for your day.

People downplay the stress of young people. It is real. Learn to listen to your body and your inner voice. Learn to dedicate your energy to the controllables and find a way to make peace with the uncontrollables.
